Going to be a threat this season, that's now 3 league wins out of 3 to start the season. They've also kept 3 clean sheets. They will be be a top 6 contender in my opinion.
Port Vale were never going to stay there. Stockport have carried some real momentum over from last season's title winning campaign. They've also made some good additions to their squad. Just my opinion like but I think they'll be around the top 6.
Many better and stronger teams in the league than Stockport, early days ,but feel free to bounce this bk at the end of the season.
My opinion mate, I could be completely wrong! I'm sure they'll have some poor games at some point! Happy to see how right or wrong I am near the end of the campaign
They SiGnEd A sTrIkEr. They're properly run. They're investing in the stadium instead of running it into the floor Cryne-stylee. They'll be up there.
As I said in the other thread mate, they signed a striker who turned down teams in the league above. We had 0% chance of signing him. I get the frustration, but they're only 3 points better off than us as it stands.
I fancied them to be in the mix. I couldn’t fathom how anyone could have Wrexham up there & not Stockport. Look a better bet to me & a lot of young talent only getting better
Good organised team with momentum and just added a quality midfielder, what's not to like, good luck to them. Shows what can be achieved with a good manager and a plan.
Aye, they're a good side who I think have gone under the radar a bit. I'll reserve a bit of judgment though until the dust has settled on the season a bit.
Re the ground. 3 of our stands are around 25-30yrs old. One of the best acadamy set ups and facilities in the country. Check out Stockports facilities. It's about time they did summat. 1 end has no cover whatsoever. No one is saying improvements can't be made. But ours have been gradual not panic. Good social club from what I remember mind. (If still open that is)
Far too early. Much was made of Rotherham signing loads of new players but they haven’t won a game yet. Blackpool also third bottom on the same number of points after being another one of most peoples pre season top 6 contenders. Do we now write them off after 3 games?
Unfair to use a small clubs fleeting success as a comparison, especially a club that were so badly run they ended in the 6th tier of English football. I like Stockport because we always do well there, but there’s nothing I envy about them, or Wrexham, Reading and Wigan for that matter. They’ve all been ‘well run’ too. https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/stpc.htm
