Thomas lacked Hammill's skill but I miss him driving forward. Spot on. When players drive at defenders fans get louder and you realise why you love the game and life again.
He had their full back on toast when he was on our left. Then for some reason we moved him to the right. Bizarre…
I like DC’s general approach and the noises he is making but Christ why does he tinker so much with his subs? The worrying thing so far is that his subs seem to make a difference but in favour of the opposition. I always thought this would be a season of transition and nothing I’ve seen so far changes my mind. We’re miles off being a top 6 side right now.
Very true mate. A big issue for Thomas was his decision making, sometimes a little slow to pick, he'd pass when he should have shot, shot when should have passed, etc. But ultimately he had already progressed the ball halfway up the pitch and it is definitely something I think we miss
Changes lost it for me, moved to a back 4 with four central defenders not a full back to be seen. Lost it not entirely accurate but it felt like a loss.
But why when we get a lead, do we start defending deeper and deeper, just like England did in euros, is it something in modern British coaches, whatever it is, it's not healthy
Earl who pissed around with the ball, lost it and about 15 seconds later Northampton were back in the game.
We're forever in transition. During each transfer window we'll sell anyone who fetches a good enough price. Tactically speaking, from our fixtures so far this season, it's fair to say that our coach knows how to use subs to dramatically change the course of a game. For better or worse.
Has Hourihane got the boll oks to say to Clarke you cost us two points today? If the answers yes we need to sack Clarke. If it's no we better have a good transfer window.
Earl has cost us a fair number of goals, after impressing very early on with us. I think he is a weak link.
I dont get your first point on hourihane mate. Are you saying if hourihane thinks he lost us 2 points conor thinks he should be sacked, or that if hourihane thinks Clarke lost us 2 points, then you want Clarke sacked?
I'd like to hear him start evaluating his own contribution to our performances, rather than just blaming everyone else. Early days for both him and the team, plenty of time to pick things up, but the first person I would look at if my team hadn't achieved our goals is me, not the people I manage. And I'd take responsibility.
