Apparently could be an announcement next Tuesday. Liam sung Half The World Away last night at Leeds Festival which was seen as a huge hint and he's fuelling the rumours on X. https://twitter.com/liamgallagher/status/1827389516039995810?t=dI1DZFOE5pi3B5477gF72g&s=19
Liam has sung Half The World Away at about 30 gigs this year. I'd sell a kidney for it to happen like. Might need to restart my top 200 song list actually.
Hopefully not some decent songs were good in the day but their music is nothing to me know and since the split Liam and Noel between them only have a handful of half decent songs. Can’t do with the egos either.
I would argue the second one is also ‘good’, whatever that is. Not as good as DM, but that’s a classic. If it’s not your thing then fair enough, but it’s pretty difficult to argue against DM being a seminal album and an album with Don’t look back in anger, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova at least being ‘good’…! they’re a hugely influential band that have stayed relevant for a few decades and generations, which is pretty rare.
Agree. Not particularly one of my favourite bands but they have probably an album's worth of songs from their back catalogue that I like. One of few acts over recent years that I'd be happy to see reunite.
A few good songs but I've only listened to one album start to finish and was climbing the walls after half an hour of that nasal, whining voice. Godawful.
Between 94-97 he had the best Rock and Roll voice - so powerful especially live. But then it went down the pan from around 2000 - although it's improved recently as he's kicked the booze and cigs a fair bit.
Saw them playing the second stage at Glastonbury in 1994, and was really excited by them at the time. Watched them headline the main stage the following year and didn't bother watching to the end. I ended the gig standing behind the sound stage waiting for it to end so that we could all get back to the tents. The novelty had already worn off by then. The first two albums were good, but they spent the rest of their career releasing inferior versions of the same thing over and over again. No progression, no innovation. Over-rated beyond all comprehension. I don't get the hype about a reunion. No different to an LG solo gig, other than the main songwriter will be playing guitar again, rather than a session musician. Liam's performance will be identical either way.
