Clarke cannot improve the club if the board doesn't buy, which they seem very reluctant to do and yet again remain very very quiet, they honestly do their best to alienate fans
We’ve done our outgoing business well before the end of the window meaning we go into next week with a reasonably strong hand. The squad looks pretty strong on paper (midfield) and we know what we need to address over the next 5 days. As we’ve had a giant amount of squad turnover (again), it’s going to take another 4-6 weeks to gel the new players and the existing players. I’ll start panicking if there’s no improvement by October but next weeks incomings are going to have a large say in where we finish.
Of all the reasons you could have picked as to why we've not done our business yet, you've gone for reluctance, which is categorically not true.
I don’t think they are reluctant to buy and if we were Man City, I’m sure they’d be first in the queue for every world class player going. I’ve followed Barnsley long enough to know that that doesn’t happen here. We wait for a Glavin, a Redfearn or a Hammel and sometimes we get one. Any player we need the top half of the premiership would be the best player we ever had. It’s not because they’re not out there, it’s because we can’t afford them. We will still have a good season.
Now that prat has gone and his transfer seemingly meant we couldn’t make signings until it happened, wonder how long until the pen is out?
Yeah probably be announced day after window closes if the fax machine is working.’thank you for reply but given Clarke wanted someone in before yesterday it should be happening straight away.
You don’t have thank me for the reply, it’s a forum where you make a post and someone, more often than not, will reply.
Yes they were reluctant till styles went, now he has gone but what i hear, only a quarter of what we were asking, so what are we going to get, please stop trying to defend them, if they do something worth praising i will be the first to do so, but upto now they haven't
But if £600k pays for the majority of the DKD fee then it essentially doesn't matter - it'll leave us in a better position than we were before Styles left.
I don't see see this reluctancy not to buy you can only make that claim after the window closes. Darrell knows who and what he wants and to quote him "behind the scenes are working to the max to make it happen." All this hot air about him being thrown under a bus and not backing him is in my opinion just not true. Anyway I'm looking forward to a productive week then and only then can we make a genuine assessment of the clubs dealings in this transfer window.
Is DKD really who we want, he is basically midfield But is DKD really who we want he is basically a midfielder which i would say is covered and he didn't look that great the other week
How many times has this to be said, there are other factors involved with transfers than just making a bid, having it accepted and agreeing terms and signing a player. A Stoke Twitter or X, said Ennis is coming to us on loan, but that can’t happen until they get a player in. I can’t verify how accurate that is, but it does highlight an example of why things things can take time.
Its my opinion but its also based on fact in that the window doesn't shut until the end of the week. If Clarke would take anything offered I don't want him as the coach of our team.He doesn't come over as a man who would take that.He seems very focused in who he wants and an air of confidence that we will get them.
I think the figures mentioned depend on peoples narrative.I've seen 600k,750k and 1.2 million touted online.
