I liked Coulson, not a world beater but not too bad. I think he got a bad injury and kind of went down hill from there with us.
He did mate. Was the game we won on Hammill's lovely returning debut for us! It was a proper beauty too edit - late 2015
Me too mate. Always had a soft spot for Scarborough so been following them for a long time now, had had a good 5/6 years back there and won promotion after his few years with York. Coulson is a proper legend for the club
So it was the season '15, when we won it and won promotion as well. The first ever wins at Wembley ehh!!. And if my memory is right, didn't that York game come straight after we'd lost in the Fa cup at Altringham.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/6213981.stm Yes my bad, old mate. Got the years mixed up. Scored for us the season prior too against Southend! Not a bad record for us in the FA cup ey?
Yes that York game is when everything turned around for us mate, coinciding with the return of Hammill, him scoring on his return here. Beautiful to watch!
I don't believe so, Fired. I was only 12/13 then so maybe he joined on loan before hand or had a trial with us but don't recall him being signed twice
If I remember right, he came back to train with us a couple of years after he'd left in pre-season to keep fit.
He was in our squad for the Liverpool cup win at Anfield ,as I was talking to his dad outside the ground. Sadly his dad passed away not long after that match.
Ed.. Jan 07 FAcup 3rd round Southend 1 Barnsley 1, Coulson 90+4 Knew I'd not dream't it.. dementia hasn't set in yet..
Surely if it’s true about this Southend lad he’s one for the u21s? Another of our many scattergun punts.
