Saw them a few times including the 2nd day at Knebworth.

A bit of feelgood, a bit of nostalgia, I'll take that on a Tuesday morning.

Not slagging you off, but I find it extremely unlikely you've never been in a place where Wonderwall or Don't Look Back in Anger have been played.

There is absolutely no chance that you've never heard an Oasis song. Literally zero.

Its a moot point, as they'd sound the same, either way.

There’s actually something on YouTube regarding the amount of songs Noel as directly copied and the number times he ended up getting sued for it, it be fair the first 2 albums are belters and as @Terry Nutkins as said The Masterplan is a phenomenal song.

I suspect even Inuits and the indigenous tribes of Papua New Guinea will have failed to escape them.

I reckon a good few of their songs have been played at Oakwell over the years so like you say extremely unlikely he's never heard one.

Maybe I'm too old, but I wasn't too impressed by Oasis (or Blur) the first time around. They've got a few good-ish songs but they've been played to death.

But then again, I'm of the opinion that most Manchester music is overrated and there have only ever been 3 great bands from the city - Buzzcocks/Magazine, Joy Division/New Order and the Chameleons. The rest are pretty meh with the old great song.

Oasis, Stone Roses and the Smiths (and the Fall) fall into the category of "******** singers spoiling a potentially great band". Forgot about some of the others though most of them are good rather than great. I'll give you Chemical Brothers though - they helped to popularize a new musical genre.

Surely we can agree that music is completely subjective. Some will like Oasis and see this as good news, some won't like them and chunter and some will be ambivalent.

My other thoughts on suggestions 'all their songs sound the same.' Don't all musicians suffer from this given a singers voice will sound like a repetition the more you hear them? You could argue Oasis suffer less of this given they have two vocalists who interchange.

Spot on. You either like them or you don't. I go through trends with music. Maybe playing Pink Floyd to death one week and then Oasis or the Rolling Stones to death the week after.
