My son who is 17 wants to go, and its not because I'm a massive fan personally and he heard them all the time growing up from me, I think they have transcended generations.
Seeing a lot of comments on social media about folk saying l say the original Oasis in 2008.... I'd say if you hadn't seen them in the 90s you'd not seen the proper Oasis. I saw them once in the 90s and they were incredible - then a couple of times with just the Gallaghers in the noughties and they were crap.
Just been having this conversation, which Oasis are we getting. Bonehead had health issues last few years so is he fit enough Is Whitey still around to bang the drum Gem will probably be involved, Quigsy maybe After that struggling to think who else
I think its been said on news that its Noel' Liam and Noels high flying birds band' so not strictly Oasis.
For me if you put Beady Eye, Oasis, Liam Gallagher and the High Flying Birds in you CD changer on random mode it's like they never split up anyway.
Gem is in Noels current band, and he was in Oasis between 99-09 and is probably the best guitarist of the lot - so that's good. Bonehead has obviously played with Liam over the last few years, so I imagine he'll be playing the occasional tune - although I'm not sure of his relationship with Noel. Chris Sharrock is Noels current drummer and was in oasis between 06-09 - he was the last drummer they had. So it'll be kind of Oasis. No chance of Guigs or McCarroll and I can't see Andy Bell either, although Ride supported Noel last summer. On a side note, the attitude of "if you're not over 40 then you can't see them" is amusing. Let kids be kids.
But then again, I'm of the opinion that most Manchester music is overrated and there have only ever been 3 great bands from the city - Buzzcocks/Magazine, Joy Division/New Order and the Chameleons. The rest are pretty meh with the old great song.[/QUOTE] The Hollies ?
It is what it is i suppose' we go to see squeeze whenever they tour but theres only Difford and Tilbrook from the original band' its still always a great show though' you just have to accept it for what it is and enjoy it. Personally i think its great they are speaking again as brothers and hope they've both matured enough for it to be long term' they do both seem a lot more grown up these days..
I've just realised Standing on the edge of the noise wasn't an Oasis track. Been humming it to myself all day thinking it was on Dig out your soul. Going to have put some on when I get home.
