I’d like us to have a bit of a run, so a tie that we can give the youngsters more minutes and still be winnable.
I’d like a big club home or away or one of the weakest teams in the competition at home to give us a great chance of going further. What I don’t want is a championship team away from home. QPR, Watford, Coventry etc away from home would be crap.
Weird shenanigans going on in the draw tonight. Top 6 PL sides are drawn separately so they can't meet, 3 at home, 3 away. Then the next 6 teams out will meet one of the top 6 sides, then the draw continues as normal. It's so the teams in Europe can't meet and their tie gets delayed allegedly.
Same here - or West Ham. As long as it's not a home tie. That would be disastrous. only 5,000 Reds turning up
I don't get the clamour for a big club to be honest. If we draw one are we going to face their first team? Not a chance. It will be their low level bench warmers and kids. We've had some amazing wins and performances in the past, Middlesbrough away 1981 Liverpool away in the League Cup QF Liverpool away in the FA Cup Chelsea at home the round after Man City at home and the Aylott winner. Proper performances to remember against full strength big teams. Beating Chelsea's also rans and kids...what a come down. For me, get a draw that gives us the best chance of getting to Round 4.
Brighton away on a Tuesday night so I can look like a proper fan while you’re all watching it on telly.
