I wonder if it will be a loan with an option to buy if we go up maybe? Looking at his goals on YouTube (I know I know) he certainly has some crackers in there. He looks stocky and explosive. He certainly looks to add something different to what our current strikers offer, let’s hope we can get the deal done.
In general I agree with you, and when quality loan players go back to their parent clubs it's immensely frustrating. Just it's often easier to land this calibre of player on loan than on a permanent, especially now we're in the 3rd tier. Maybe if he likes it here and we go up, we'll have a chance of landing him on a longer deal.
Don't know what I love more, his finishing or the stadium with the picnic area behind one of the goals. Spicer-tastic.
Does this mean it's VE Day? (NB - We have had at least one player who played for Go Ahead Eagles although we didn't sign him from there, namely one Marcel Ritzmaier who played 28 games on loan from PSV in 2016/17)
I like that montage a lot! Direct, confident, can finish. Not shy to try the spectacular. Get the pen out!
Watters I’m guessing. Although I would imagine our percentage of turning loans into permanents is rather low.
Because we're skint! We get lads in on loan, develop them, turn them into strong players for that given division and then the parent Club sells them to a rival for a fee we can't match! Just unfortunate, what can we do?
In fairness, it’s annoying having loan players in who do really well and you get attached to them (never fall in love with a loan player they say huh?) but also it allows us to have players that we could never afford. Catch 22 I guess.
There's been a few, though admittedly not loads relative to the number of loans we've had in. Off the top of my head Watters, Nardiello, Turnbull, Isgrove, Lumsdon. Further back Mark Smith, Brian McCord both came in on loan at first iirc. Was Redders a loan at first? Sure there must be more.
We've been using loan players for as long as I can remember. And it's not as though every other club outside the top division hasn't always done the same.
