Not like you to mask over, once again how embarrassing this actually is. How many times has this happened over the years? Whoever has ****** this one up needs their P45….. (If it is true mind, which it’s going to be….)
On what I've seen the problem isn't in the attacking third. Mansfield. Got the line -up wrong and didn't turn up for 25 mins. Had to come back from back from 2-0 down. Lincoln went 2-0 up cruising then sat back. Northampton went 2-0 and made daft changes threw it away.
Masking what? How embarrassing what is? A player has decided against a move here. What else is there to say without knowing any of the facts.
That I agree with. But I don't think it's for the want of trying. Clarke said about 6 weeks ago it's the hardest area of the pitch to recruit for.
There's a possibility that could be the case in the forward line. Doug O'Kane has made numerous comments in his updates that the club feel the better deals will become available late in the window. If you believe that, you're unlikely to be pushing hard for signings in the first phases of the transfer window. It seems a bizarre strategy if that is indeed what they've followed.
I think we're just waiting for the out of date yellow discount stickers to go on players. Everything comes down to money
I think that's just how it is, isn't it? It all starts at the top and trickles down. There's a few people mentioning the lad from Luton for example. The likelihood is that he'll go out on loan, but won't until Luton are comfortable they have cover. He was on the bench for them last week. I guess it's about judging whether it's better to wait for someone like that being made available, as opposed to signing arguably inferior quality players on a free early in the window.
https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbla...ista-stund?utm_source=iosapp&utm_medium=share Translates as follows... There will be no loan to Barnsley for Victor Edvardsen. According to Sportbladet's information, the player has chosen to cancel the transfer due to family reasons. The striker will now continue to play in the Go Ahead Eagles. It was on Tuesday that Sportbladet could reveal that Victor Edvardsen would travel to England on Wednesday to undergo the medical examination and be officially presented by Barnsley FC in League One. According to Sportbladet's information, the player has chosen to cancel the transfer due to family reasons. The striker will now continue to play in the Go Ahead Eagles. At the time, the parties had agreed on a loan with a purchase option of around eight million kroner and the player also agreed on the personal terms with the club. He also passed the medical tests and everything was pat and ready for a transfer. But at the last moment the player himself blew off the transfer. It must have mainly been about family reasons, according to Sportbladet's information. Now the player has traveled back to the Netherlands and will apparently remain with the Go Ahead Eagles. At least until January. Edvardsen will soon join the team again. EDIT for info 8 million kroner roughly equals £600,000
You could also argue that as clubs get increasingly desperate, the better options get picked up by teams able to offer better terms or pay higher fees. The later you leave it, the higher the risk, the higher the scarcity.
It's almost like good attacking players are majorly in demand, expensive, and easy for teams to identify through goal involvement stats.
