All this aside, for me it shows the difficulties in managing BFC - I'm not saying it doesnt go off elsewhere - but the last thing the manager and players need is fans on their backs if things don't go our way - I always thought as a club we have been at our best when our backs are against the wall and and against all odds attitude - we need more of what we had at home to Sheff Utd. Lets look at it in terms of games - We've won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 - it's hardly a car crash of a start to the season. I get we should have seen the game out against Northampton, but on another day couldve got at least a point against Mansfield , lost at Lincoln and at home to Sheff Utd. I'd rather know now that someone doesn't want to join than them get through the door and have a half ar5ed attitude - I'd rather have worse quality that actually gives a 5hit!
Ahhh well can’t say I’m surprised. The quicker people relax & accept it’s league 1 mediocrity for a while the better, maybe then we can slowly build towards something. Promotion challenge this season was always a pipe dream.
Well thank God we weren't pinning our hopes on a striker from abroad with 2 days of the transfer window left, having known we've needed one for the best part of 4 months. Wait...
Call me cynical but I’m guessing thei wouldn’t have been any issues if it was a Bolton or a Birmingham trying to sign him.
I would think things like this happen all the time change of heart but and it's a big but with us leaving it so late and if he's the one we have been waiting for this is nothing sort of a disaster. Let's hope the dof got a strong plan B or he will deserve all the flak that's will come his way.
I don’t really get that if it’s a loan. Assuming we’ve agreed a loan fee and a percentage of his wages with Go Ahead Eagles he’s not going to be any better or worse off coming here than going anywhere else. If we were buying him and they blew us out of the water on wages fair enough.
Stuff happens but you would have thought when it reached medical stage that the player was committed.
Give over with him, young lad coming from Sweden on loan to let's be fair not the most desirable place in all of Europe. Leaving his family and his friends as well. Cut him some slack and cut the club some slack on this one surely?
He sounds like trouble to me. My dad thinks we dodged a bullet. Been there 1 season and he's forcing a move because he isn't a guaranteed starter. Not a great look.
I don't buy the 'family reasons' line. Surely all that aspect of the move will have been weighed in his mind long before getting as far as coming over for a medical, which is the final stage. Think he just took a look at us and for whatever reason didn't fancy it.
He's seen the West Stand hasn't he? Like that other player we nearly signed. I heard he told the taxi driver to keep the engine running while he does a couple of sprints with them, the 4th sprint was back to the taxi.
You may well be right. Maybe there's more interest on the continent. But its also easy to ignore the upheaval players from Europe now have at lower league levels.
If we don't sign anyone does anyone think Clarke will sulk until January and then leave for another club?
Victor arrived and when presented with the contract, questioned our league 1 status. He was bemused how Burnley were not still in the championship challenging for promotion into the prem.
