The club made the biggest of blunders in the FA cup v liverpool away - where it was something like 3 tickets per season ticket - queued for 7 hours to not get served - yet in the 3 tickets we wanted there was over a hundred years of ST membership! Folk ended up at that game who hadnt been since the PL years. We need to make sure that we dot make demand outstrip supply as we have seen before - if we get 9000 then it should be 1 per ST - let the non ST holders queue ! If we get less allocation than ST holders then it should be ST + vouchers for both cup games, ST + voucher for 1 cup game, ST holders only, then general sale
League cup 3rd round. Ok it's Man Utd but I can't see there being much clamour for tickets tbh. Prob take about 4 to 5k. United will field a team similar to the match at Oakwell in BSM cup not a full strength one. Look how many folk turned up for that.
It is so annoying that these big prem teams decide to take it seriously at the Semi Final stage fielding full strength teams only from then. Same thing happening to the FA Cup which is tragic. Draining the magic from the tournament. Imagine being a non league club in the FA Cup who get through to say the last 16, draw Man City and they play the kids against em. It ruins the whole competition especially for the smaller clubs.
Agreed! While I started watching Barnsley in 06 I wasn’t truly in love with football until the victory at Anfield in the FA cup. All my mates at the time who were Liverpool fans were laughing us off, then when I got into school on the Monday the smiles were wiped off their faces. What I’m getting at is the cup games should be magic and ones that should live with you forever, however with the way teams look at these cups now then it takes away some of the excitement - and gives those glory supporters an easy way out ‘we played our second team’
I wouldn't worry about tickets, there will be enough to go around. Do people honestly think we'll take anywhere near the 9,000 we took in the FA Cup? Not a chance
Night time parking near there could be a problem or has it improved since that Rileygate match? For such a massive stadium the parking was poor and I parked a good walk away. Plus is it actually safe to leave a car round there in the dark? Much as I would love to see us play there again I’ll probably give it a miss
Media City has a couple of decent multi-storeys - cheaper at the Lowry Outlet one. Across the footbridge and you're 10 mins or so from OT, with an easier getaway afterwards.
FA Cup you get a bigger percentage of capacity than you get in EFL Cup, but still plenty to go round.
