Clarke seems an honest straight forward talker... His words and tone seem to back up that the player had a change of heart. I'm happy to take that as the reason. Frustrating, but we have to be thankful he was brave enough to make that choice and not just go along with it and regret it later, as would we.
Failed medical is the least harsh as it doesn’t actually mean anything. A medical is like a risk assessment, then each club will have different criteria’s to judge against, that’s why you see a player ‘fail’ a medical at a club but then easily accepted at another.
Bizarre that in the past we signed a hell of a lot of players who were injured Woodrow being a prime example
Yes but they are things that can heal.If it's a genetical fail for BFC this could be let's say a faint heart murmur that doesn't meet our criteria but other clubs may accept it.
You may well be right either way dunt make any difference he's not coming hopefully he was just one of a few on the list.
But sounds as though its the player that has turned it down so to me its probably personal finance that has come into it, whether it be by us or parent club
Yes but the difference is he was spotted doing fitness tests so you can probably conclude he was our preferred choice that we could afford.Anyone else now in that position will be second ,third choice etc.And if they do manage to get another striker in and say he was our first choice I'm not buying it !
How do you work that one out? You think he should bind himself to taking a new job in a different country before seeing the town, meeting his boss and colleagues and seeing the facilities? I certainly wouldn't do that, and if I didn't fancy it after a visit I would have no qualms about pulling out.
I don't blame the club for the subjectivity of this one transfer. I do however, hold them fully accountable for us having little over 24 hours until the window closes and they still haven't signed the 2 quality forwards that we need, despite knowing since January that Cole and McAtee wouldn't be here this season. Let's not forget that they've gone on record stating the policy that better deals for forwards are available late on in the window. The clock is ticking and our season is in the balance. They've got a couple of rabbits to pull out of the hat. I hope.
I think you might have quoted the wrong post here. I do blame the club for our lack of replacements (thus far) for Mcatee and Cole.
It's been a frustrating summer for bringing strikers in but I really hope that we don't panic tomorrow and waste the bit of money that we do have to spend on players that don't improve us.
I didn't say poor form for him. He's obviously agreed with his family to take the time to fly here, take a medical and agree terms. So he must have seen something he wasn't happy with.
This board is going to go into absolute meltdown if we don’t get the required striking options before tomorrow’s deadline. I am just hoping we do get some quality forwards in else if not we going nowhere this season imo. But let’s wait till deadline passed before making judgement.....I ain’t holding my breath here btw.
