    Yes, he’s been excellent hasn’t he. He’s played like he’s been in the team for years. We got tickets yesterday for day 3 of England v India at Headingley next summer. Should be a great series that one.

    Makes Pope’s poor form look even worse. They need to take the captaincy off him so he can do his job properly.

    Pope's stats are terrible. Out in the first 20 balls 38% of his test innings. If he wasn't vice-captain he wouldn't even be in the side.

    I'm not convinced that Pope deserves a place in the team never mind the captaincy. Brilliant from Atkinson though. He looks like a top order batter.

    I agree but Yorkshire need him to charge to promotion. I’m watching them on YouTube as well as the England match on Sky and he’s 131 not out. Brilliant performance

    We’re going up to Headingley tomorrow (if my back doesn’t start playing up again), but unlikely we’ll get to see Bairstow bat. Unless he’s still in from today!

    I think he's doing great as Captain. There is noone smashing on the door in county cricket for his place in the batting lineup. Lawrence hardly pulling up trees with his opportunity. I'd rather stick with him and look for consistency.. there are very few players I've ever seen who could match that innings in India in the winter.
