    I would imagine he’s spent all summer hoping a Championship club takes him on and they haven’t. Like anyone he needs a job so we’ve made our move?

    I get the point. We could sign him next week if we wanted to (he's unattached) or next month or even earlier this season.
    Are we going to make him look like he's a deadline day signing, even though he is anything but?

    I'm starting to think very unfavourably towards certain sections of our fan base. I love a moan at the Club when I think it's warranted, but I only do it when I think something needs saying.

    I honestly think a number of our fans actually enjoy pulling the Club, players and even prospective players down any chance they see an opportunity.

    People asking why we're looking at Humphreys, it's a panic buy or whatever.... Of course it's a panic buy, we obviously lost our main target when Thor flew back home, taking his Thal-hammer with him. We're also looking at him because he's a competent striker in our budget who has experience of this very league!

    For God's sake, give it a rest and try some positivity!

    I've absolutely no idea why he hasn't got a club before now to be honest. Blackburn have been linked, and Wigan would have kept him by all accounts if he'd have taken a pay cut. The timing is definitely suspicious, and I think for me he's probably not our first choice. He's probably our next target after we missed out on the Swedish lad, given they're in a similar mould.

    Problem we have is we're not after players to start. If Cosgrove and Watters are fit they'll start. That makes it harder to attract players. Same with DKD. If Phillips is fit he'll start.

    Neither one is good enough to start consistently. Cosgrove is decent off the bench with Watters being nearer to a regular starter

    I think given the right service and a run in the team, Watters will score plenty. See Cosgrove as more of a nuisance value sub when we need to mix it up a bit. Definitely a useful squad player and a good option off the bench - but he probably won't be knocking in 20 goals a season for us.
