    Awful news.

    Soon after he was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 we played against his team, Cardiff. We spoke to counterparts at Cardiff and arranged for both squads to wear warm-up shirts referencing Sol.

    The next season he had recovered and went to Boro and when we played them away from home he made a point of coming to see us and thanking us for the support earlier in the year. Came across really well, seemed a nice bloke. He played in the game, they beat us I think. But yeah, he was cancer free and back playing and it was uplifting even if we did lose the game on the day.
