https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0jmt75n Love his interview, even the handful of times he sounded sarcastic.
I find DC a bit aloof or arrogant at times - on Max's injury, all he needed to say, was something like ' It's too early to say ' or ' the medical team haven't assessed him yet ' but if the team keep putting in shifts like they did today, then onwards and upwards - COYR!
Sometimes footy managers (or any human being really), can be misunderstood as being co*cky and arrogant and big mouthed etc. I have to agree though with our fans who say there is something likeable about Clarke, and the way he talks.
I do like the chap - but agree tbf on this bit - it was a genuine question. Perhaps he was just trying to keep it positive. Anyway, after Tuesday night, I did feel Watters may have been running on empty. He put a shift in and was dead on his feet after the Sheff Utd game. He’s not played back-to-back games for a number of years, so I wasn’t surprised he came off with an injury. Maybe not related to anything, but like I say, not a surprise to me.
I just think he is trying to be funny in his response. I don't think he is arrogant. There is a very fine line between confidence and arrogance.
Also unsure if he’s trying to be funny or just prickly. It often comes off like the latter either way, but if it stops the same old inane questions being asked I’m all for it.
I really like him. Properly down to earth, but clearly very canny with it. Virtually everyone who's worked with him has only good things to say about him. He's had a lot to contend with in his life but seems to have channelled it in a really positive way. I hope he's with us for a long time to come.
Listened to a couple of his port vale interviews last night,. I like how honest he is and doesn’t sugar coat anything
After Collins the press conferences are a breath of fresh air, Collins was blowing bubbles 90% of the time and nobody knew if he’d been at the same game.
I’m not sure how you can pick a fault in that really, very matter of fact, answers the questions truthfully and doesn’t talk *****……… Nice to hear him praise the board too and Mladen with the transfer window, maybe not as tinpot as some would have us
Like chalk and cheese. If I never hear Neill Collins' croaky monotone voice again it'll be a day too soon. And I was one of the people who stuck up for him!
Breath of Fresh air. He doesn't suffer fools, isn't rude and clearly treats 5 hit questions with the disdain they deserve.
