Good luck to Neill. Didn’t work out for him here and I don’t think he was a good enough coach for us but he never did anything but his best as far as I can see; and he owes us nothing. Hope he does well.
He did very well in America and it's a shame there's no promotion & relegation over there - hope he smashes it.
Good for him. As far as I am concerned he has my respect. To go from the USA to manage our club is a big deal. He wasn't bad, it just didn't work for all concerned. To achieve at Barnsley you have to be gritty, like the town, like the supporters. Barnsley FC strives to over achieve, it's what we do. Also interesting stat on Collins he has taken charge of 228 games, winning 121 and drawing 48. That's pretty damn good!
https://www.raithrovers.net/welcome-neill-collins/ Good luck to him, showing off his best Puma underwear holding up the scarf.
Good luck Neil, some of our fans behaviour towards you last season was absolutely disgusting. Their anger should have been directed towards others higher up.
Really hope he does well there. Don't think he was too far away with us, and while his football was turgid at times, bad managers don't win as many away games as he did at any level. He has got quite a bad haircut though, a bit like a Lego man.
Suffered from the constraints placed on him by the board and data analysis buying. My guess is Clake agreed to come if that sh*te went out of the window. Collins didn't have the clout to get his own way where Clarke had the CV. Maybe Collins will do better with a free hand if he gets one but good luck to him..
How can anyone state he wasn't a success. We was in the top six when he left. One game to go. Out of all the head coaches at BFC. He as to be the one harshly treat. Due to the toxic nature of the fans.
Why anger at those above. Surely it was tactics that let us down in the end. Players played out of position etc. I didnt like the timing of when he got the push, but sort of understood it. I wish him well.
There's no way the club would change its philosophy for Clarke. Pep and Klopp yeah, but not Clarke. But I think youre incorrect anyway mate, just my opinion. Every single club uses data analysis by the way, right down to non league clubs. We've lost some very good league one players now which had to be replaced and I think we've done to do so
Imagine, Florida -> Barnsley -> Scotland Thanks Dad, seriously at that age l couldn't give a **** about kicking a bag of wind about, my main thing would be my family. He must feel gutted, hope it works out for him. I'm in a job that is so cut throat and everyday l have the fear that everything could collapse, the holidays and the lifestyle my kids have now could be gone in weeks. I hate living in this rat race, my colleagues are all banging in their pensions and retiring at 55 - I'm racing to it.
