If he was collecting his mother from somewhere else I might have thought there was a reason like she has dementia and he needed to get to her asap to keep her safe. If she’s at an airport alone though, she’s obviously managed a flight so a bit more alone time whilst he drove at the speed limit shouldn’t matter. (Unless, I guess, she’d somehow took herself off there and hadn’t just arrived on a plane).
I don't know about anyone else but I don't go driving about willy-nilly. If I get in the car it's because I have to be somewhere, usually work, or maybe picking up a family member, or getting the shopping. "Sorry I was speeding officer, but unlike all these other drivers on the road who are just mincing about, I actually have to be somewhere. I'm very important don'tchaknow. In my own head."
So he was driving over 100 in a 60 but wasn’t doing it on purpose. Give me a break! Absolutely ridiculous excuse.
Wonder if people will start referring to this case in future when they were speeding and ‘had somewhere to be’…
So if he’d killed someone at least there’d have been a valid reason for his dangerous driving. Bonkers….
