Same team as Crawley but DKD for Watters, would be my guess. Humphrys and one of Benson / Kelechi as subs perhaps. Rovers are well structured and probably the best of the sides we’ve faced at home in the league to this point. But I think we’ll get the win we should have got in the other two but didn’t. 1-0. Set piece. I’ll go Josh Earl.
They're a good side who have spent some dosh. We should be putting these sides to bed if we are serious about promotion this season. I can't call it, but looking forward to the match. Hopefully a win and we go on to have a few good results at Oakwell.
Great write up as usual. I think this will be a difficult game and is one that is difficult to call. I don’t think they play a possession game and will put the onus on us to break them down. This is an aspect of our game that we’ve struggled with recently but I’m hopeful that the new additions will add some additional creativity as well as variety to our attacking threat. This will be a great game to win and we could significantly move up the table with so few teams playing however the mental scars of supporting us tell me these are the games we usually fail to capitalise on. However, being positive and ignore these thoughts I’m going for a 2-0 home victory. Apparently, they’re not strong on defending set pieces and I think that is something we will utilise to get the lead before a late counter attack will make the game safe. Bet wise, I’ve not got off to the best of starts this season but Barnsley to win to nil at 9/4 is tempting me. The fact they are yet to score away together with our back to back clean sheets is probably clouding my judgement. My dark self is telling me to counter this with a 1-1 correct score with Promise Omochere to score late on - players with tenuous links do like to bite our bums - it’s available at 22/1 (anytime) or 40/1 (last scorer).
Well, you’d like to hope Max or Sam are fit. Then you can play DKD off one of them. If they aren’t available, I guess you could risk Humphrys up there with him, hope he gets through an hour etc. I just think based on what seems a bit of an injury curse right now, I’d rather not start Stevie who hasn’t had a pre-season. Based on - admittedly limited - evidence so far, DC picks a side with the opponent in mind so I trust he’ll do what’s best to get a result.
