I never get involved in politics or religion on here but I have a question hopefully someone can answer. When parliament vote on the Winter Fuel debate next week are the members named on which way they vote?
Better the devil you know. People were more interested in scandal than policy and it's coming home to roost. Cheese, crackers and red wine seem least of folks worries now this blokes in charge. (Sorry for a political response). Buy back British Rail and freeze to death rah, rah, rah.
Grown up politics instead of populist bluster. so many people who claim people are coming over here and getting free benefits seem happy to give millionaire pensioners free money.., strange world.
I'd rather Labour had tapered it more rather than it just being for those on pension credit but fuel is costing less now than when it was introduced and if the excess money goes to people more in need I think it's a fair enough decision. Having said that I do appreciate how it would have looked if the Tories had done this!
Pay rise talks were on going under the Conservatives at a higher rate for NHS workers than the settled figure of 5.5%. Labour got round the table backed by unions and the figure was agreed straight away. We were urged to agree because it got the government around the table. It was also disingenuous to continue salary talks that were ongoing under the Conservatives out of taste whilst an election was in progress. FACTS.
As an example, the second child benefit vote was listed in the press - https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/h...CefQ0evpf0SzP_oZB6y63CqcDzbS7Ajzgx13ZJy7Kd14m All votes are listed under https://votes.parliament.uk/ .. I've just tried to find the child benefit cap, and I think it was an amendment, so wasn't easy to find what I was looking for. I believe It's also possible that some things are bundled together which may make things appear worse.
