This poster has an interesting take on yesterdays game Bristol were second best in every department yesterday. Possession, shots on and off target , corners, passing, everything - in fact their two attempts on target were by virtue of two huge defensive mistakes, one being the goal and the other from Okeefes ‘ten bob ‘ead’ header back across goal. Affords some Rovers players 8.5 out of 10 for their participation in largely creating bugger all and being more 2nd best than the score line suggests, and gives the reds a measly 6 by comparison (Going by his/her maths Bristol’s first 11 and subs are given an average score of 6.4) The mind boggles
They’re not the brightest on that forum. On another post someone claimed our winner shouldn’t have been allowed as the throw in Cotter took a couple of phases before was a foul throw as he stepped over the line… His heel was planted on the line. Part of his foot was over the line but his heel was in the line. Perfectly legitimate - and showed him/her up for not knowing the rules (and when I looked nobody had picked them up on it to correct them either).
I heard they’ve entered that post in to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival next year and it’s front runner to win an award.
I thought their keeper did well & the striker looked a handful. Other than that no one caught my eye. You would probably expect a better result or a lot more chances on goal if apparently so many players played that well.
Their manager was trying to make this view that they got unfairly done also yesterday despite them creating barely any real opportunities rather than us gifiting them one goal and almost put another on a plate for them. Think they seemed the most limited team to visit Oakwell this season so far. Also not sure why they are giving their keeper so high marks. Thought he got himself easily beaten in the middle of his goal for our first.
Giving the ref only a 6 when he didn't book any of their players. He sent Matty Pearson off for Huddersfield the other week.
Yeah he seemed to be applying that logic that them just falling over was a foul and us actually being fouled wasn’t. Can’t believe he didn’t come back and book their player who took one of ours out late either yet card happy when it came to us.
100% of throw ins at every game are foul throws because they are never taken from where the ball went out. If the thrower fails to deliver the ball per the required procedure, or delivers it from a point other than where the ball left the field of play, the throw-in is awarded to the opposing team. This is commonly known as a "foul throw".
They’re not. And that one definitely wasnt. You can have a foot over the line as long as part of the foot is touching the line.
He’s also got the shortest long throw I’ve ever seen. Often the don’t make it far into the area at all.
It always disappoints me that, but our own managers have done it as well over the years. Making sorry excuses like that after a poor performance and a deserved defeat!. And yeah maybe they were in a slightly false position after all, being on 7 points like we were.
