Presidential Debate

A well balanced post, it’s great to see.

 

I've been asking people (waitresses, supermarket staff, people met on beach etc) as I'm really fascinated by the politics over here.
So far:
Harris 4
Trump 5
Don't know 5.
ps some of the don't knows actually didn't know who was running!

 

Anyone supporting trump needs to remember that in response to a school shooting he said that people need to "get over it" and in response to being accused of sexual assault he said that the woman accusing him "would not have been the chosen one"

 

That does not surprise me one bit, especially the last line

 

I try not to follow US politics, but it seems our media are hellbent on having daily coverage. It would be nice to hear more about other nations, particularly those who are our nearest friends... But obviously there is an agenda against that.

Anyway.... Wasn't it Trump as president who rigged the supreme court and skewed the 5-4 balance? Indeed aren't there picks of his who are riding with some highly dubious arguments to push back hearings of his multiple crimes?

Isn't Harris a lawyer by trade? I've seen little of her, but she at least seems articulate.

As for Trumpiots. Not all are yokels, but they know what Trump is and they deify it. They know his views of women and his sexual assault case verdict. Yet some women still vote for him. Black and Latino voters know his racist ramblings, yet some still vote for him. They see his admiration for dictators Xi and Putin, and they still vote for him... While ironically calling Harris Marxist or communist! They hear climate change denial, that covid wasn't real and more absolute bunkem. And they still vote for him.

Not all Trump voters are yokel. But they are idiots.

 

Their willingness to use the courts for their own agenda? Like the actual law of the country? Trump is a rapist and convicted felon but is still running for President.

Baring in mind that the courts gave W Bush his victory in Florida - after the Brooks Brother riot - struck down Wade v Row and is stacked with Republican appointments - including at least one that is taking money from rich donors to give rulings that he likes (Clarence Thomas) and whose wife was involved with January 6th.

Only a few minutes in, Trump was talking about abortions after birth, and then he proceeded to turn the debate into a rally speech. It was staggering, even for him, and I’m not sure he’s capable of doing anything different should there be another debate - if there is one.

 

Good points, but I don’t think it gives him an advantage. Keeps him in the game? Definitely

 

Saw a quote about Trump earlier that really me laugh, can’t remember who said it..it was something along the lines of
“Trumps a**e but be really jealous of his mouth with the amount of sh*t that comes out of it”

 

I sincerely suggest you read more about American politics over the last decade.
That's as polite as I can be.

 

I was watching whilst keeping an eye on Twitter. His cult thought he did a great job. There is no changing their minds on anything.

Makes me laugh he constantly repeats he's neutral but never says anything in favour of Biden, Harris or the democrats and has repeatedly defended Trump.

Absolutely a Trump supporter and i hope nobody takes him seriously again if he comes out with statements to say otherwise.

 

Don't forget their 'I'm voting for the felon' t-shirts and caps. Thick as pigshít.

 

I think it’ll be a repeat of the last election and of course he’ll cry ‘rigged’.
