First Job: Saturday Porter at Boots on Cheapside in the late 80's. Currently not working. Would like it to be early retirement but likely it's a lengthy sabbatical before returning to some contract BA work in Financial Services.

Started as a student actuary, made partner at PwC in 2008, lateral hire to Deloitte in 2011, carved my business out and sold to private equity last year. Just done the second flip to another PE firm and retire next Tuesday.

Did a couple of government schemes when work was hard to find in the early 80’s, first proper job after nurse training was staff nurse at Middlewood hospital in Sheffield, last job was Director of Developments for a specialist health care company.
I lived in the main building for a few years after it was converted in the early 00's before I moved to London. Sheff Wednesday bought a couple of the flats and I had neighbours such as Ndumbu Nsungu (above) and Proudlock (below). Was never destined to live there too long with such company!
Packing in a factory which was a holiday job that turned into a bit longer when I failed my A levels. I thought I wanted to be a teacher but actually that's wouldn't have been me. Instead I found my passion a few years later. Now work in HR. And although I didn't pass A Levels, so uni was out - I've ended up with a Masters.
Do you ever get frustrated by the policies and rules that are in place to protect people? I'm all for unions and contracts that rightly protect people but I find that sometimes companies are afraid to enforce the rules when it leads to a disciplinary or a potential termination. It might be my next thread - what's the worst thing you have seen someone do at work and not get sacked for?
A lad I knew at work bless him wanted to be a copper. But was frightened of his mates ignoring him lol. Now a bit of a gaffer at watterboard.
