I'm not "triggered", I've seen it time and time again on this board by the usual suspects. Whatever Labour do is absolutely right and just, right up until the point it will affect them directly. It's the I'm-alright-Jack club on here.

People complain about illegal immigration, they're shouted down as a bigot or racist, operative word there being illegal. In what world do we house people entering illegally, and withdraw financial support from pensioners in Winter?

There's a generation of people, a lot of whom on this board fall into, between say 50 and 65, who thinks they know everything. They're the bastions of truth, knowledge and compassion. When in actual fact they're just indoctrinated rent-a-gobs for Labour.

Starmer is a POS, so is the absolute sh*thouses who voted to remove the Winter fuel allowance. The Tories are no better. My feelings are the same for events the other side of the pond.

Neutral. Neutral in the sense that I despise them all. Trough-dwellers.

The thread is about the US Presidential Election?

Yep. Most of the replies aimed at me are in relation to my supposed "support for Donald Trump". @wombwell-red unfortunately forgot to add the posts where I categorically stated my feelings on Trump, quite purposefully I might add, as (from memory) those posts were in the same threads that he pulled his selective quotes from. Misleading no?

Again, even if I did "support Trump" does that mean that I'd have nothing constructive to add on any other topic? According to several learned elders on here, yes it does. And I should be ignored apparently.

To my mind, that's the definition of close-minded bigotry, something a fair few on here like to call others when it suits their agenda.

This thread is absolutely about the US Presidential Election, I commented on it on my first post, and was roundly turned on by the compassionate assassination squad that frequents this board.

Why are those who want less immigration in the USA also fervent Capitalist worshippers?

If you're neutral, criticise Trump, Farridge, DePfeffel et Al.

Whatever you believe, stand by it. But your words seem to back up that you aren't neutral. Which is fine if that's the case, but own it. Again, just for completeness, I didn't vote Labour at the last GE.

And why are those pro immigration largely ambivalent about immigrants being financially exploited, live in already poor housing in run down areas?

I agree with most of what you’ve put there. There’s very little difference between Starmer’s Labour & the Tories.

A lot of traditional Labour supporters are deluding themselves that Starmer’s somehow played a game to get into power & that he was then going to show his true left wing values & now they’re deluding themselves that he’s just balancing the books & then he’ll show his real left wing values rather than admitting that he’s played many of them & he’s further to the right than any Labour they’ve seen.

Where I would disagree on both sides are the same is that the two parties couldn’t be further apart than when Corbyn & Johnson led them & to a lesser extent when Milliband led Labour there was a clear difference too.

I wish those moaning would respect the result of the vote. Labour means Labour. Bunch of Torymoaners. You lost we won. It was just project fear. Get Labour done.

    That's how it works innit?

I agree with you up to a point, today's Labour Party has moved substantially to the right since the days of Harold Wilson, and he was substantially further to the right than Clement Atlee. However, almost any government has to be an improvement on the last 14 years. As I've said on here before, I'm a member of the Green Party which is probably closer to a traditional Labour left-of-centre position, with the addition policies designed to decarbonise our economy. As far as the success or failure of this government, it's far to early to make any sensible judgement. I think 5 years is probably a reasonable time-frame.

    I’ve seen that post
I think you underestimate other peoples intelligence and disrespect age and wisdom in some of your comments. Accusing people of being things because they question your opinion is poor form.

You have to respect that many people have been following American Politics since the last election, have repeatedly heard both sides of the arguments and recognise a lot of right wing rhetoric in your post. You basically could have ‘cut and pasted’ the content from any Trumpist source. Calling Harris a ‘buffoon’ after last nights performance is a big giveaway.

The only people you’ll get to agree with you on American politics are the ones that favour our own far right. Sorry if it disappoints you, but it’s the way most of the UK rolls.

I should have worded that differently. I shouldn’t really be commenting on Labour historically before I was born as I don’t know enough about it.

I mean his arguments tell me he's about a mile down the Alt Right rabbit hole. This is literally how they get people hooked on their bullsh*t.

Can't see the big problem with the debate or the election. Trump is a moron. Harris isn't. So if I was voting in the American election I'd vote for Trump if I was a moron or Harris if I wasn't. Mind you if I was a moron I might get confused and vote for Harris by mistake.

Trump is a rich tw+t who cares about the "people" as much as the rest of them. Farage is a carpet-bagging grifter who plays on trumped up (pin intended) racial tensions in this Country for his own ends. Boris is an old-etonian toff who, again, couldn't care less about me or thee.

    Anyone else?

You'd have to ask them I suppose. I'm not one of them. Although I do see merit in Capitalism, it's just being run by people without conscience.
