    The UK *had* a very good risk profile. Hasn't our rating gone from AAA to AA over the last decade or so? (For comparison, USA is AA+, Australia is AAA and France is AA-. Argentina is the only country with CCC)

    Oh, and the bit about exceeding 100% of GDP was I think discredited. It was the driver behind austerity, but the economists who did the work missed out a column in their spreadsheet which reversed their conclusion.
