All fair points.Regarding the Bristol goal I would hope that most defenders would just smash it out of the ground but you're probably right communication could have been better.
As for his kicking I remember 1 where on another day the opposition would have kicked the ball straight back towards the net ,other than that I don't recall any major **** ups and he regularly finds his wing backs with accurate kicks or throws.I still think he'll be a big player for us this season.

Chelsea like to stockpile loan players. Not sure they'd ever consider him for first team tbf, they'd go out and buy the ready made article.

I wish we hadn't signed him either, and the excuses are wearing thin already about him being young and inexperienced etc.
His age isn't his fault of course, and neither is the ridiculous fee that Chelski or some other club paid for him.
But surely we had better options than him at the time ?.

Still think he is worried about making physical contact with the opposition and in certain situations he concentrates more on avoiding them than the ball!

Also kept us ahead at half time that game with a top save in first half.

He's been shaky at times but he's a young keeper who is still learning and who's playing in efl. He'll get there I'm sure. And he's definitely better than the other options we have.

There's not a keeper on planet that doesn't make a mistake every now and then, issue is when they do it usually leads to a goal.

I've read some posts on here claiming that he's an excellent shot stopper. I can't remember a shot he's stopped. He's a terrible goalkeeper. Really poor. I know he's a young lad, and we're supposed to be sensitive to that, but we're a professional club. You have to have some professionalism. I'm also a terrible goalkeeper, I don't expect the club to employ me in that position. Can we start being honest?

He made 3 fantastic saves at Wigan on his debut.

If you take a £10m youngster on loan who plays in midfield then you'd expect them to go missing every now and again, but also have moments of excellence which make up for it.

Doesn't really work with a goalkeeper.

That's nice and all, but we need a good keeper now, to get us promoted from L1. Not one who's here to learn the ropes and get the mistakes out of his system so that one day he can sit on the bench for Chelsea.

I don't give a toss whether he's learning, quite frankly - I just want Barnsley to win matches. And at the moment he's not helping.

Exactly, its a harsh way of putting it, but I agree.
I wish we didn't have to take these young players (and this means keepers especially) on loan, knowing that they need the experience. Which also means they are going to make a lot of mistakes.
And even if he helps us win a few cup ties on penalties, its these regular mistakes in the league matches that will cost us dearly in the long run this season.

He is a good keeper now. Like I say, name me one keeper in the world currently that doesn't make mistakes. Spoiler, there isn't one.

There is no keeper around that we could have loaned or bought that doesn't make a mistake. Unfortunately for us and Slonina, he's made a few in the last few weeks and it's cost us, but I bet over the course of the season he'll save us more points than he costs us.

Go on I’m intrigued. Pen saves at Wigan. Redeemed himself against Bristol but dropped us points against Northampton.

Kicking aside (mainly in second half) at Lincoln he was great.

The save at the end of the first half when their striker was 1 v 1 kept us up at the break and ultimately was a big factor in us winning that game so that already evens out the mistake against Northampton (which was poor).

So he's redeemed himself for the mistakes he has made. As you say, shocker in first half vs Bristol but then great save to make up for someone else's error and we won as a result.

He needs to cut the mistakes out, of course he does but he's already made up for the ones he has made.

If we are already trying to weigh up mistake vs save ratio then there's a problem isn't there?
