I took some stick on here for saying it was a massive gamble paying £70m and giving him a 4 year contract.
There was a big thread on it - if I could be bothered I'd dig it up. Edit: in fact I'm not, because I said they would have been better investing in Kalvin Phillips.
I think I bigged Casemiro up in that thread, though I might have said it was an overpayment but I dont remember. His legs have gone a year or 2 sooner than I imagined. He had a very good first season but been pretty much appalling since.
Agreed tbf. He was immense that first year - but its a position where if you can't run, you're fcked. Edit: here we are https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/mu-signing-a-30-year-old-for-£70-million.316079/
Actually, my first comment is still fine I'm saying! Saying he isn't a cast off, a cast off was Willian to Arsenal and that casemiro had had a brilliant career and played plenty of games and the money was too good to turn down because they've brought in some great young talent. I'm not reading no more in fear though
Yes, I thought it was me that started it off. I thought it was an obscene amount of money at the time and I still believe that.
Eh? 81 goals 17 assists in 98 games, in the league alone. Thats a goal contribution a game. An immense record in Europe for them too? They did the same thing with him as they did with Casemiro. Sell them as late as possible with maximum profit still.
You must have misread what I said. Real Madrid don't sell good players. They are one of the few teams that don't have players poached if they want a player to stay he stays.
Pretty sure he left Real because Perez didn’t support his tax fraud case, he did as well as he could have at Juve but they were a poor team
I think I could score a few in serie a not what it was in the 90s. Went downhill after leaving Madrid.
He was good when he actually played but I think he got sent off 3 times and missed at least 10 games suspended
