Hoping they start passing it about at the back and treat it like a training game second half to save their players. If they go for it we look powerless to stop them. The centre halves keep bunching together while the wing backs are nowhere to be found. Lets teams cut through us like butter
People giving players stick for the performance is out of line. Fair enough for losing to Stevenage. But the fact a team full of internationals who are individually earning more than our squad is stupid. We are making poor passes but they are pressing so much better than our usual opposition. people giving Roberts stick for first goal. Give it a rest. He’s a league one defender against Marcus Rashford. obviously it’s disappointing but wind it in.
Hopefully they take the foot off the gas & are happy with 3 goals. Might as well make a few changes, give a few of the other lads some game time. Nothing to lose.
This could get very messy if Manure get out of first gear, not that they've had to in the first half cause we've given them the 3 goals. We seriously need a coach who can learn the defenders how to bloody defend because they are once again all over the place and it's not because manure have been that good.
I was expecting 'a bit of a gap ' but **** me! The difference in speed of thought, speed of movement and how quickly they move the ball - with purpose - is extreme. The only way this doesn't become more embarrassing is if they take their foot off the gas. Incidentally the support here, particularly in the standing area, has been off the scale. Deserve better.
I can't be overly critical, we're playing against very experienced, very good Premier League players. But we're not doing the basics, O'Keeffe not following Rashford's run for the first, Slonina diving in for the penalty and O'Keeffe again for their third losing the ball on the edge of the box. Good opposition or not, we shouldn't be making those types of errors in the first half when they're supposedly fresh. I just hope O'Keeffe comes off at half-time, Roberts gets a double leg transplant and Slonina thinks, even just a little bit before darting off his line. Keep it tight, retain some dignity.
Been a lifeless game other than the goals, which we've gifted them on a silver platter. No-one looks bothered. Could almost have forgiven the Stevenage disgrace if they'd have been fired up tonight but in front of 6,500 travelling Reds at Old Trafford they're in 2nd gear. Unbelievable.
Imho A decent showing for 10 mins ish but men v boys. This score is reflective of the difference in the players and teams and it really is a question of how many united want to score. Very easy night for them.....defence still needs a lot of sorting. I just hope we don't come away too demoralized and it effects us on saturday.
Not only do I worry about the team ,the manager for picking this team. Why the **** do we keep persevering with o Keefe.
It's stupid selections i'm annoyed at. It's so obvious that what we need is some sort of outlet either running down the sides or standing up and holding it up or getting us bits of free kicks and instead we've got two fannies up front giving us nothing.
I was looking forward to Jalo running at them, but no, let's give Cosgrove and Humphreys 45. And please, Lofthouse for O'Keeffe.
We've knocked the ball around nicely at times, but literally every visit into our half could result in a goal the way the defence are playing. Watters is a passenger, Yoganathan looks like a mass of limbs tonight. I'd sub both of them at half-time as the gamble on them hasn't paid off.
But our errors haven't been forced. We are literally kicking the ball to them. Doesn't matter if they're premier league or non league, if we kick the ball straight at them then we've given away possession regardless of the opposition. That's what frustrates me, that the errors are caused by ourselves. It's a bit like a tennis player aiming directly into the net every single time. Doesn't matter if it's Novac Djokovic or Dickie Bird stood at the other side of the net, if every time you touch the ball you mis-hit it every time then you're causing your own problems
We couldn't beat their Under 21's so I was expecting a tonking but we're not giving a good account of ourselves. Buffet football.
I've seen some minging performances from Barnsley players in the past but that half by O'Keefe is right up there. Abysmal. Jalo not up to it, hate to see it but I suspect he'll drop down to non-league eventually, just don't see the hype unfortunately. Cotter looks the only player capable of playing at a higher level.
We've not done ourselves any favours. Expected us to lose, by a few goals, but we aren't half making it easy for them.
