We were playing Man Utd, far quicker and superior players. Yet we kept playing **** balls across front of the area and trying to play out of defence Surely the tactic tonight against these should have been get rid, row z if defending in our box. Robbo was terrible and that keeper absolutely no need to make that challenge,

We played some ok stuff at time but absolutely nothing up front. no idea how watters gets a game.

Totally agree, what’s the point of chucking goals away to build a player up for somebody else? If we were going to bring in a keeper it should have been an experienced one, not a rookie. As it is I’d blood one of our own.
It’s not as if he drops one off clangers, we practically know one’s coming .
The defending might not be great but you have to be able to trust your keeper as a basic requirement.
Then there’s the non marking it’s so frustrating watching us make the same mistakes game after game leaving man after man in acres of space.
Maybe we need a deeper lying midfielder, to help although with the gaps we leave going back to a sweeper wouldn’t be unreasonable! Or maybe a machine gun nest and razor wire around our penalty area would help.
It’s not that I mind to losing to a Prem team , it’s the manner of the defeat, the players from the old ‘ Battling Barnsley ‘ teams would be embarrassed , at least marking up, closing down the opposition and being able to pass to your own fking players shouldn’t be asking too much!

They aren't fit enough. We weren't Havant and Waterloo ville. Run ragged tonight. Giving up at the end. We're a league team. No excuse for tonights shower.

While I admit I'm from a generation of reds fans spoilt by watching past Barnsley FC teams play teams supposedly much better than us and at least give them a game if not beat them. We used to wear the Battling Barnsley tag with pride teams knew they'd been in a game after playing us, what our teams may have lacked in ability they more than made up with fight and hard work Sadly the Battling Barnsley tag is long gone. We were hammered tonight by a team who didn't have to break sweat to do it, didn't have to fight for what they got, they just had to wait for us to make the mistakes and give them the opportunity's and take them. We are a poor team defensively and the current players aren't improving in the way past ones have they aren't learning from the mistakes just constantly repeating them. As for the new coach the jury's still out but I can just imagine the stick past boards would have got for taking on a Head coach / Manager from a team relegated from the league we were competing in.

Thought it was wrong to start Jalo and was proved right. Bless he tried but nothing came off for him. But had more impact that Watters. Can’t imagine what wages we are spending on Roberts but I bet it’s a fair amount and for his so called experience he probably made the most mistakes, thought Vimal did well and unfortunate to be taken off. Ref a typical premier league homer. Should have booked at least 3 Utd players for consistent fouls but never bothered. Weirdly despite the result enjoyed the evening. Fans were class tonight easily showed up Utds pathetic support.

Clarke is starting to worry me. He’s slated the players tonight (again) and rightly so but doesn’t he take a bit of responsibility too? Where was the shape and organisation, a lot of that comes from the head coach. At 3-0 down at half time when we’d continually got done with long balls in behind the wing backs didn’t it occur to him to change to a flat four and close the space down a bit?
Not sure why we thought we could play with wing backs considering the pace United have with Rashford, Garnacho and Anthony. Asking for trouble.

I wanted Man Utd to score an eighth tonight because not one of those players could lace the boots of those lads in 97. Don't deserve to be talked about in the same breath.

I guess though it’s different levels. We actually where in the prem then. We aren’t now and it showed tonight.

Tremendous display of incompetence by the Reds and manager ruined by Barry Cotters performance,I understand now why Clarke subbed him at half time on Saturday , he needs to work in training on his abjectness to justify his place

I wanted some onions on the overpriced hot dogs they were selling, but you don't always get what you want.

No onions for hot dogs and didn't sell burgers. Pies, hot dog or a sausage roll.

    Better offerings at Oakwell.

Comparatively, last night was better than 97. We had a far superior team then and still lost 0-7.

Sadly we're just another mid table league one team now.

Yoganathan didn’t look fazed but Jalo did and Watters well he was just absent.
Smith needs a run now too wasn’t he Walsall’s first choice ?

In the interests of "telling it like it is" as DC keeps claiming is his way.......can one of the journos at the next press conference ask him if its part of the loan deal that Slonina is played every game. He may well turn out to be a good keeper, but he's obvs not ready for this level every week yet.

I've woken this morning with such a couldn't care less attitude. Even my wife taunting me last night didn't get a response. Sadly, and I mean sadly, my love for all things BFC has faded to such an extent that even last Saturday's poor performance was instantly forgotten. Last night is now already forgotten.
I'll probably watch the game at Burton on tv but if we win I'll be happy but if we lose then I'll let it pass by virtually without a care.
I dread to think what all this is going to do to our home crowds. Or am I bothered?
