So, I've been wandering lately why more and more I find myself disagreeing on here with those folk who consider themselves Leftists given that I've always considered myself a traditionalist centre-left, socialist, "to each according to their need, from each according to their ability" kind of person. I've always voted Labour (until last time, when I flexed to Lib Dem part tactically, part because I couldn't abide Labour's stance on Covid) and yet, I seem to be at odds at them with every issue that's happened since Brexit - broadly the last thing I agreed with the Labour stance on.

Then I read the below article in the Guardian and I realised, it's not actually me - it's them. Since Covid, the left have gone mental. They've becoming actual, verifiable, fuucking idiots.

The rise of Britishcore: 100 experiences that define and unite modern Britons | Life and style | The Guardian

Your stance on Covid was the exact opposite of "to each according to their need". You put the economy above everything, including your own health and that of the rest of the vulnerable population.

Are you sure its not you?

1- The Guardian is not by any metric 'Left Wing' its about as centrist neolib brewdog dad as it gets
2- You've linked a clickbait AI article written clearly as a joke that's doing the rounds as some sort of proof of your superiority which is embarrassing
3- I suggest you consider if you know what 'socialist' and 'leftist' means
4- Kieth Starmer's Labour Party is to the right of Cameron's tories
    5- Sithi

He didn't, he regularly wrote about the health impacts such as peoples mental health and the social development of kids that the lockdowns would have. Some of which are now coming to pass.

Are we actually putting any weight into an article whose first point is "Umming and aahing with your partner for 10 minutes over whether to share a naan, and then just getting one each because “you only live once”."

    Come on now. Please.

I don't necessarily agree with what you are saying about the left, but reading that list causes me physical pain. It's like a car crash I can't look away from. It's that bad that I'm having to do it in stints - any more than 10 at a time and I might cringe so hard I actually implode.

Its a funny AI word salad but if your reaction to it is an angry and superior 'because woke' you probably need to think about how much time you're spending on the internet

You're as wrong as it's as possible to be. You'd like that to have been my stance because it's one you can construct a winning moral argument against.

Sorry mate, stopped reading here, trying to move the Overton window 900 miles to the left just makes you look daft.

I feel like it reveals more than it should about the lad who compiled it.

I got called right wing because of Isla Bryson, the scumbag rapist of 2 women. He committed the crimes then transitioned to a woman afterwards. My view, common sense I thought, was 'eh, duh? Obviously the scumbag goes to a mens prison, for obvious reasons, obviously???' but initially got remanded to a womens prison and then to mens. So imagine my surprise when I mentioned my view and got called right wing and then every name under the sun. I was a little dumbfounded.
