I might have got this wrong but I'm sure I spent the whole evening watching the teletext page right at the end of the season when we got promoted to the Premier league . Sure wolves were playing grimsby in a midweek match . Think wolves slipped up that night which meant all we had to do was beat Bradford on the Saturday. I could be talking complete nonsense though
No, you’re right mate. I listened to the Wolves game - think it was on Radio 5 as it was probably the only game on the night. Wolves threw the kitchen sink at them but they held on. Beat us at home that season as well tbf
My first contract in London in 1984 was for a small software house on Oxford Street. We developed a commercial version for business use.
I remember when it was Ceefax on Bbc 1, and Oracle on Itv. Back in the early-mid 80s. And I used to have a go at the Ch4 teletext quiz Bamboozle as well, regularly, just for something to do.
Loved it as a kid - best way to keep in touch with the scores. Enjoyed Bamboozle also and I remember they used to do a Christmas advent calendar as well.n
Teletext lives on, this was posted on here a while ago. Still use it for the nostalgia factor. https://www.nathanmediaservices.co....by51ayIsIi93ZWJzb2NrZXRzL2NlZWZheCJd:page=100
When I told people I worked for Oracle back in the day they invariably asked me "oh, the teletext company?" errr, no.
