Would have preferred both Huddersfield and Blackpool to have dropped points but can't have it all I guess
Kevin Nagle doesn't strike me as the sort of owner who has a lot of patience. The season after Warnock kept them up, he had a twitter spat with the owner over the transfer budget and left pretty quickly. Darren Moore was then appointed as his replacement and was subsequently sacked after a disastrous spell in charge. Given the money spent this summer their expectations are top 2. Micky Long Haul won't have long to get some results.
Likewise, mate. But Blackpool had a really slow start and I'm not sure if this is a purple patch or they've just got their act together, 3 wins in a row now however. 2 very good away results, today & against Charlton. Looking good for them
MLH has ruined his reputation as a loyal man too. I think a club wouldve looked at him long term, with a project to build, before & whilst with us. Now I'm not so sure after how quickly he left & lying to us, certainly now that he's fumbled at Swansea and form at Huddersfield isn't great, despite the very good squad of players at his disposal. Did anyone watch it? Herbie Kane had a shocker according to Flashscores. 5.8 rating. Only the keeper Nicholls with 5.7 & Koroma with 5.6 rating below him for both sides.
Duff started slowly with us to be fair. His skills are in players management so I’d expect them to improve pretty swiftly.
Micky long haul being found out. When will they learn the grass isn't always greener ( managers and players)
Yep. Bit early to be looking at it seriously, but always nice to see teams just below us dropping points from their games in hand!
There is a thread dedicated to Duff, dating back to when he was just rumoured to be taking the job. Scroll to the most recent posts and find ‘restless natives aplenty’. Ridiculous I know, it’s 7 games in and at one point tonight they’d jumped into 3rd place, but these are the times we live in. https://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/119922/michael-duff?page=35
I’m not sure if it’s true or not but I did read on here I think that we tried to get him to join, but he turned us down. In his first interviews with HTFC he talked a lot about how good their resources were iirc and that would understandably be a big influence on his decision to join them but they’ve had a pretty woeful transfer window, missing out on May and then the lad from Luton, leaving them with a couple of inexperienced lads up front. Football waits for no one and he’s in deep trouble if they lose against Reading as Birmingham after that then huge pressure against the mighty reds. We could seal his fate, which would be a delicious irony.
Had a coffee with a Huddersfield fan the other day. Says he's gone proper off the boil - reckon Duff will turn him around and do a Mads - esque job on him, but definitely one who should be playing further up the leagues imho.
Why do people revel in our former players and coaches lack of form, demise, or fall from grace ? The germans call it schadenfreude, sorry but I don't understand it.
