Tarn folk won't want to pay 90 quid for a pair of socks or 200 quid for a plain white cotton yet shirt
I was in a while ago talking to the store manager and she said last Christmas it was one of the top performing shops in the country for its size and it was continuing its performance too, there seems to be a perception that folk in Barnsley won’t spend on clothes…….personally I disagree but all opinions eh. I do think your right with some kinda department store though, I always thought there could’ve been another in the Alahmbra like there was many moons ago
Flannels is a department store - and at those prices they only need to sell a few things every day to make a decent profit... Frasers is opening at Meadowhall soon - which I think is their lower-priced department store.
I was making more like a old school department store, is the new frasers going to be where Debenhams was?
Yep. Its where Debenhams was. Although Sports Direct and Game are also moving in there too. Atkinsons in Sheffield looks like it caters for the over 70s, and Harvey Nichols and Selfridges are pricier than Flannels. I was looking at a top in HN the other day until I saw it was over £800!
Frasers opened today I think. A focus on more premium brands rather than luxury that you find in Flannels. I think it has homeware from their other owned brand, sofa.com as well. They probably got the unit in Meadowhall quite cheap as they would’ve struggled to fill it otherwise.
I’m partial to a nice thread now and again and have been since I was young but some of the prices I see for what it comprises off make my eyes water at times
Now having said that, I did pay, or WE did pay £200 for my wedding suite back in 1986 from Frank Birds. 100% wool & made in Germany & top Quality. Does that make me an Hypocrite?
