I was reading about this and wondered if they really ARE too good to be true. It’s the usual dialogue where famous people say, on tv, that they have invested a modest £200 and seen this grow dramatically over a short time.

Google searches say this is NOT a scam but you can’t help being suspicious. I suppose I could say that I can afford to lose this amount of money gambling on their scheme, and that’s fine, but I’d be worried about potential risks down the line (ie hackers stealing your personal information and bank details).

I’d be interested to know if anyone has experience of this scheme or other similar ones.

If its too good to be true, it probably is. Either it'll be a scam or a tax dodge and you'll end up regretting it.

Although I said that about Bitcoin - and I'm still not convinced that isn't a scam waiting for the bubble to burst.

My brother was telling me about a workmate who’s joined up to something stocks and shares related. Apparently you have to be invited by someone that’s already joined, you download their app and get several texts per day telling you when to buy and sell ‘pips’.
I’m not sure about it myself. Is it much different from having a stocks and shares ISA or pension?

When I started work in Birkdale in 2018 I was talked into investing in Crypto via Binance. This after spending two years in my previous role jealously watching some geeks display their investments going through the roof on a daily basis. Talk of them putting in £1000 and being (then) currently worth £60,000 etc ........ I resisted.
But aye, my Birkdale mates convinced me so I splashed out the princely sum of £250. Within weeks it was worth £75 but they all said "it's a long-term thing. Check again in 5 years and buy yourself a Porsche" .......... etc.
Well here I am 6 years down the line, and my £250 is worth £171.67.

    Maybe they said porch? lol

Mm, thanks for that! It’s funny how everyone in their “reviews” sections says they made a little here, a lot there etc. One today said they were over £4,000 up in short order and withdrew the profit to buy his wife a present.

These things always sound ridiculously easy to make money on and I suppose that’s how the organisers take money off suckers tempted in. I was thinking of it being like having a big flutter at the races and either winning, or losing the lot. Bit of fun while it lasts maybe?

I think I’ll give it a miss. I’m not a gambler and the most I ever lost at a race course was £20, at Catterick some years ago. That was the loss limit I set for myself and had a bit of fun placing small bets on the afternoon races. I enjoyed watching the beasts thundering past me at the rail. Couple of wins, couple of losses - pleasant afternoon out
    - and I’ve never been to a racecourse since.

If it really worked then why would the inventor need to sell it?

I'm not saying such bots don't exist, but if they do I'm certain that they're being kept firmly locked away.

If it offers guaranteed returns well above the interest rate it's almost certainly going to be a ponzi.

    It's ******.

An average hands-off investment makes 8% a year. Something like a 20% profit is a very good year and something most investors would bite your hand off for. If you have £200 to invest and want to become rich, throw it on Barnsley to win the league and you'll have a better chance.

If you want to make money investing that is going to make an actual difference to your life you need to be putting in five figures minimum.

You can certainly try it, it may make you money, but it is incredibly unlikely to be anything more than small change.
