Watching the game on the TV tonight I uttered a few colourful phrases when I saw that Joe Jacobson was one of the studio guests. I don’t think any opposition player has angered me as much as Jacobson since Jamie Vardy last played at Oakwell*. Every time we played Wycombe he was a complete tool. But on the TV tonight he came across as quite a decent chap. I think I’d have been much happier if he was like Joey Barton or Robbie Savage, a tool on the pitch and a tool off it.

But Jacobson isn’t alone. Who’d have thought Ricky Ponting would have been such an affable bloke after watching him playing in the 2005 Ashes. And I always hated it when I spotted Chris Kamara in the opposition line up, cos he wasn’t half a dirty get, and he’s turned into a national treasure, although to be fair he went up in my estimation for his conduct after we beat Bradford to clinch promotion, despite it leaving them deep in relegation trouble, and I was glad he got them to safety.

But I suppose this works in reverse too, as I always enjoyed watching Matthew Le Tissier play and he’s turned into a right pillock.

*I’ve just remembered Luke Ayling. So Jacobson is the 2nd more annoying player since Vardy. I’ll be very surprised if Luke Ayling turn out to be an all round good guy though!

But harsh on Savage to band him in with the criminal scumbag that is Joey Barton

Jacobson was good. The older I get, the more I find that all people are genuinely good-natured but the system they are placed in might not let them be so.

I’m considering inviting Jacob Rees-Mogg round for a dinner party to test my hypothesis.

I agree, I really liked Le Tissier as a player and the way he stuck at Southampton Think lots of the Aussies seem OK away from the pitch!

He was up to his usual antics in an U23 game on the academy pitch against us a few years ago, so me and my mate loudly expressed our displeasure. He looked up at us. We decided to stop. He may be an arse of the highest order, but he’s half our age, a big lad and a professional athlete, and there are no cameras, about 50 people in the crowd and only a few yards between the players and us on the academy pitch!

Sting. I really don't like him. Don't like his music, always thought he came across as a complete arsehole. But having heard a couple of his interviews over the years, conducted by people who can bring out the real personality of the interviewee... it appears he's actually a nice man. The f***er.
