    Barnsley Football Club can confirm goalkeeper Jackson Smith has joined Sky Bet League Two outfit Grimsby Town on an emergency loan.

    The 22-year-old joins the Mariners following injuries within the goalkeeping ranks at Blundell Park.

    Sporting Director, Mladen Sormaz, said: "We are pleased to have had a full pre-season with Jackson at Oakwell. It was always our intention to allow Jackson to develop further and keep in mind our long-term ambitions with him. We wish him the best of luck and will be in regular contact with Jackson throughout his time with Grimsby."
