A dark day in our history 22 years when we applied for administration.
Hopefully we never see those times again.

Grim time. Am I right in remembering it was down to the bank withdrawing our overdraft facility following the collapse of the Tv deal?

Yup, NatWest bricked it over an overdraft of less than £1m, and before player sales could happen to ease it.

NatWest left a bad taste in quite a few people’s mouths after that. It wouldn’t happen today…..

Hope everyone cancelled any Nat West accounts they had.

    ITV Digikal.

The collapse meant clubs didn't get the ongoing commercial payments.

It’s scandalous when you consider how much rope other clubs have since been thrown, albeit in different circumstances since the sugar daddies started getting involved as much.

Anyone know why Haylesdon pulled out at last minute?
Did they bid again when in administration?

Yeah wasn't he the 'administrator' at that time. I remember him giving updates in the home programmes, and it was getting more and more depressing.
And I think there was the very real threat of us closing down, if a buyer/investor couldn't be found, by the end of November.
And then who stepped forward... none other than Sir Peter Doyle!.

Doug is brilliant - I've dealt with him at a grass roots level and he's just a really good bloke and journalist. Ash Ball the same. Chronicle are lucky at the minute.

Wonder if they post on here?

I'd say 1919 was up there with our best.
