Because according to the board, we'd been tracking him all summer. Who did we send to chase him down? A snail? I reckon I could beat him in a foot race over hundred yards and I'm 52!
I think we spunked the styles money on him so we was waiting for that deal to get done. Looks like mansfield have had our pants down though.
To admit that at this stage of the season he doesn’t know who his best players are or what his best formation is tells you all you need to know.
It’s absolutely pointless sacking another manager. Nothing will change. The problem lies with those in the boardroom.
I wouldn't sack him. Pointless. Just starts the cycle again. Another manager acting under the same parameters. Just let him do his job to the best of his ability.
My response on this forum when Collins was appointed was "meh", l can't remember if l responded on this appointment but we are fishing in the wrong pond with the past two appointments. We need to get it right on the next one because at the minute we are team around the play offs and having been in them in the last two seasons we are a decent attraction in this league - after this season we may be a mediocre, mid table team and not really an attractive prospect.
They’re sure doing well without him. Winning again today, currently 5 points in front of us with a game in hand. Clough is a very canny manager at this level. If we wanted to pester Mansfield and throw £700k at them it should have been for Clough. Doubt he’d put up working for these owners though to be fair…..
Oooooo someone is about to be called a bigot.....some opinions, however valid, aren't allowed on here.
I don't have an objection to the womens game per se and I'm sure it has loads of potential for expansion but it's a long way from selling over 7K season tickets at Oakwell and that's the clientele that should be the priority.
