Sad to say we are streets behind Sheff Weds.

I honestly thought our game was a 3pm kick off so was disappointed not to watch us but having then seen all the reports and comments I did feel a great relief.
I then watched Coventry v Weds and saw two teams so far ahead of us in all aspects that it makes me glad we are not trying to compete at that level.
We are at our maximum level right now, exactly where we deserve to be.

I think our stable mates will be Bradford and Doncaster soon.

Jesus wept lads change the fooking record. We are in no danger of going down. We might finish midtable but we won't be anywhere near going down.

Believe it or not we do have good players for this League. Just need a competent manager

Sorry to say unfortunately I have to agree. The level of ability shown by our players is so far behind what is required it is shocking. Half of them should be sued under the trade descriptions act. Connell putting on a show is laughable. The few decent players will leave this sinking ship as soon as they can. The owners of this club have brought in players who clearly lack the ability to improve or be any better than lower league players. Roberts for however well he plays his legs have gone. Hourihane appears was never going to be a regular, just a ploy to sell season tickets. Don't replace strikers. Dunn looks lost and must be kicking himself. Cosgrove poor, Humphries unfit and probably always will be. When Cotter is seen as a success just shows how far we have fallen. The only direction we are going is backwards. Clarke clueless.

Saturday was rancid and I too have huge reservations about Clarke. However I have to take issue with these two. Robbo has been our best defender this season, and I can't see any evidence that "his legs have gone". He's not as quick as he once was, but he's already saved us on many occasions, and chipped in with two vital goals. I'm also not sure how you conclude that Humphrys will "never be fit". There's absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back this up.

Glad it's not just me, I see no evidence that Roberts' legs have gone. Yes, he's not the quickest but he never was and he still covers the ground he needs to.

And why are people assuming Humphrys will never be fit?

And he does Cotter a disservice. He says we've signed players who can't improve then contradicts himself with Cotter. Suggesting everyone has got worse rather than Cotter drastically improving is disingenuous and just wrong - he's one of very few who have performed well for majority of season.

Agree on a lot of this. Connell is nowhere near the player he was. Trying to play him as a box to box midfielder is madness. Humphrys is bound to struggle for fitness when he hasn’t had a proper preseason. It would help if we played him centrally instead of that waste of space Cosgrove.
DKD must definitely be kicking himself, especially when he sees Mansfield doing so well. There must be a player in there but where we fit him in to see his best I’m not sure. We don’t seem to think about stuff like that when we sign players.

Why are we in no danger of going down!!! Really? The keeper can't catch a cross, the defence can't defend, the attack don't attack, the best in the division midfield have done a disappearing act and the coaching staff have shown no indication whatsoever that they have an answer to our problems. If you ask me all the above indicate we are in great danger of being involved at the wrong end of the table this season and we can't depend on a good transfer window to get us out of trouble if the last 2 or 3 windows are anything to go by. People need to take the.rose coloured specs off especially the people in charge at Oakwell

We've won 4 and drawn 3 of the 10 games we've played. We're just 1 point outside the play-offs but have more than double the points of the team in the final relegation position. And we've scored 15 goals.

I'm not going to claim we're playing well at the moment because clearly we're not. And while relegation isn't impossible, I do think there's a huge overreaction going on.

If the argument put forward was that we're not looking much like promotion candidates then fair enough, we're not, even though we're in the running at this early stage based on points accumulated. But 'we're going to get relegated'? Really? Based on what? Certainly not results.

I don't know about taking rose tinted spectacles off as I've read very few, if any, claims that we're playing well. But I do think there's an argument for putting prescription spectacles on and having a look where we actually are in the division. Midtable, which is pretty much on par with our performances.

I'm not sure why the OT is benchmarking us against a club in the championship with a bigger fan base and more pulling power.
I'm more worried and no disrespect meant but Mansfield, Wycombe and Stevenage played effective football to their strengths, all of which have less budget but look way ahead of us knowing what they were doing game plan wise.

If you read what I said I didn't say we would definitely be relegated I said we were in great danger of being involved at the wrong end of the table, but given the evidence of the last few matches the performances are getting worse and the head coach doesn't seem to know what to do to stop the rot indeed by his own admission he still doesn't know what team to pick from one game to another. I stand by what I said if things don't change and quickly the downward trend will continue and the current squad don't look like relegation dog fight fighters to me they look like rabbits in the headlights. Yes we are just outside the playoffs at the moment but that's on the back of some very lucky wins and that luck seems to have deserted us for now.

Roberts legs have definitely not gone. Like the others in defence they are struggling with both formation and the fact the ball comes straight back, but as @Merde Tete says, he has probably still been our best defender.
Nobody can say "Humphreys will never be fit". Remember Norwood when he first joined? Laughable. And he turned into a reet lean machine.

The OP suggests we are miles behind Sheff W; we are a way off all teams who have left us in recent years; Swansea, Oxford, Luton, Brentford of probably a fair way behind Derby and Pompey too. So yes, whilst I agree with @Tyke The Tree-Frog that we won't go down (probably) we do have to face up to the fact that we are also falling behind #TeamsLike Mansfield, Lincoln, Wrexham too. That's more of a concern unless we pull our finger out.

As poor as we’ve been, a win would have put us back n second place for a little bit on Saturday. Lots of room for improvement and plenty of time to do it.

Two years ago we were beating that club now in the championship. We were equally matched on the pitch and it only took one Wembley goal to divide us.
Two years on the gulf seems huge. They've had major controversies with players, managers and the owner but they've just about managed to survive and look far better on the field than we do. They are bigger than us in all things and get the benefit of bigger crowds but we fall apart at the earliest opportunity by selling on, or getting rid of, our "prize" assets.
Their potential is to get bigger than they are now, to get crowds in the thirty thousands. Ours currently is to decline and get smaller crowds.
They might fall apart and we might come good but right now it doesn't look promising.
I hope we can turn it around and I'll gladly eat my words.
