My first ever away game was at Millmoor, 31st August 1968. It was a 0-0 draw. However, the one thing that annoyed me was Barnsley were in all white (Rotherham were in all red). I was furious! Why did Barnsley have to change their kit? Everyone knew Barnsley played in red and white! Rotherham should've changed THEIR kit! The fact that they were the home team was totally irrelevant and I insisted I was right!

Anyone popped over to Millmoor? I never got the chance to go and I drive past every day. Wouldn't mind popping in on my way from work but wasn't sure whether it'd still be open at about 4:15pm.

I'm here. Still plenty of people knocking about so I reckon it'll be open for a while yet.

There was the old Tivioli theatre opposite the ground. Never saw it other than derelict.

I remember Tivoli more than Millmoor, Tivolis - the place where fingering was still in fashion.

How many Barnsley fans were in attendance?
I've always been interested in away followings... i once counted 18 Oxford fans at Oakwell, and they left at half time too.

Absolutely no idea, mate. As far as I was concerned, if you didn't support Barnsley, you didn't count!

Even worse after the match when they opened the gates, only for the outlet to be blocked by two police horses, with South Yorkshire's finest seemingly oblivious to the potentiial crush they were causing. It must have been terrifying for those at the front being forced into the ar5e end of a police horse.
