I think the lad has a future. We just got to hope at least one of the coaches at Oakwell spot it because I don't think Clarke will
Seems to have carried the can for the Man Utd debacle , should at least have been on the bench for the last few games (if fit)
This is what gets me how can a 18 year old carry the can for the man u hammering? That day we started jalo his only start of the season against some of the best players in the country then we keep giving him 10, 15, 20 minutes when the other more experienced strikers are doing nothing. Same with vimal although he can't even get a place on the bench for league games.
Blackpool will be interesting, does he keep playing Cosgrove? Is watters back? Humphrys looks OK but is he fit? Or do we give vimal or jalo a start.. over to you Darrell.
It’s cos we have the best midfield in the league apparently. don’t think we even have the best midfield in Barnsley tbh.
Looks like a good prospect. I don't think he's quite ready yet, but as you can have 7 subs these days, I think he's worth a place on the bench. And if we find ourselves 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go, get him on, get him some experience when there's no pressure. But we struggle to do that because we've signed two dozen central midfielders who the manager has to try to keep sweet, including some other club's young prospect on loan who we're getting up to speed instead of our own, so Yoganathan is way down the pecking order. Having said that, by the 80th minute Clarke will have already used all his subs in four different formations. (Have the courage of your convictions Darrell. After spending all week with them in training, you picked your best side in the formation that you think would suit them best. You're in the best position to know what that side should be and how they should play. Our greatest chance of success is for you to stick with that, for as long as possible, even if we go behind, because that's your best side and any change is a weaker side. Sometimes you might need a plan B, like the first game of the season, but in every other game the changes have made us worse. Believe in yourself, don't be questioning what you've done all the time and tinkering with it, and then it'll be reight.)
Really feels like a massive game coming up this Saturday and it’s more about performance than result for me and obviously I’m absolutely desperate for both but we now need to start seeing some of that front foot football that Clarke promised us and to see actual passages of play from us that causes our opponents to defend and work the keeper. He’s had two weeks to figure things out I’d be really disappointed if nowt changes.
Yep,he's had enough time now even if we lose games (like we've not been doing). He must get his game plan, players and formation sorted out now. Tinkering and faffing times are over for me now. I dont care about the argument that this team is worse than last year's anymore, I just want the manager to step up and say 'this is it, this is our modus operandi' and stick to it with marginal tweaks when needed. If Clarke is still faffing about in the next week or two he's definitely no good, regardless of the fact he may be no good in any case.
Glad you used the word "if" Being 3 nil up with 10 minutes to go is a bit of a dream scenario at the moment
We would sit back and lose that. But then our coach doesn't tell them to sit back and defend, he reckons. I dont think he knows what he is saying or doing, totally out of his depth
Its a bit concerning he's been happy to make comment that he doesn't know his best team or formation. As bad as recruitment has been, it makes it all the more difficult if the coach hasn't got a system and strategy he wants to deploy. Saturday has to be a better performance. Result is immaterial for me. But if you can't turn in a better more coherent performance after 2 weeks on the training pitch after 4 desperately abject insipid gutless performances... Then I think regime change becomes a more realistic likelihood.
I can only assume we don’t rate him that highly given that we signed Craig, Hourihane, Nwakali & also extended Wolfe’s contract in the summer.
