It's so odd. The only unbeaten team apart from Australia until now. Against Scotland if they had to bat the whole innings they would have reached 200. Yet we go out in place of a team we beat. Not only that if it had gone to a Super over we'd have qualified even if we had lost it.

 

I've never seen them play so badly. One player dropped three catches. WI were just crazy with the bat in the Power Play.

 

Scoring 200 wouldn’t matter it’s worked out on how fast you score - how fast the opposition score. A draw gives a NRR of 0. The 118 we plodded too in 20 overs v Bangladesh is a what cost us.

I think England have some talented players. But we dont have the mental strength and application. I first thought this when we went out of the commonwealth games i think it was. Players like Dunkley and Wong have gone sideways or back. New ones have emerged. Now those younger players have now grown up a bit, got technically better but we still haven’t developed a mental strength to be the best in tournament cricket. The attitude from likes if Cross and Brunt is needed.

 

Can't believe they dropped Linsey Smith for Lauren Bell. Smith had a superb Hundred with the Superchargers and bowled well in the first three games of the WC, taking at least one wicket in each game. Lauren Bell was too expensive.
