Why are we allowing a loan goal keeper to make silly mistakes and cost us?? Why not use our own keeper, who we sent on loan to Grimsby to learn by his mistakes? Absolute shambles…,.. how can anyone justify putting in Slonina over Jackson???

Tbf we should have signed a keeper isted half a season, Roberts a full season now Slonina.
Thought both Roberts and isted were great but we've dropped on a poor one with Slonina.
To not address the situation though recruitment wise signing a proven L1 keeper and keep borrowing keepers for nearly 2 years is poor.

It seems to be the modern coaching way of catch nothing. He punched a corner away in the first half really well then the the ball came back in should have been a easy catch but punches it again, shot in the second half comms said good save but for me he could have held it but pushed it out for a corner which keeps the pressure on. The lads got to learn he's still young but unfortunately he's learning at our expense not sure how long we can allow that to happen.

Was hoping this brand new thread on him was to tell us his loan has been terminated.

Clarke must know his own job is on the line if he keeps faith with Slonina.

Slonina is a liability and costing us points, Clarke needs to put him on the bench and play Killip. The defence must be losing confidence iSlonina after he is making constant errors.

    *Old record alert*

Not Slagging Slonina, young players make mistakes. But when a young player is your number 1 it really costs..
Who I do blame is our recruitment team. They had all preseason plus, to line up an experienced keeper. What did we do? Bring in 2 maybes, awful recruitment. And one, who it certainly looks anyway, that he has to play every week choose what.. But looking at the alternatives I dont think there's many who would argue for him to be dropped..
It's a bit of a shambles, we've done it too ourselves, no one else to blame..
Our own recruitment is costing us big this season.

We haven't had our "own" Number 1 since Collins got injured nearly 2 years ago.
Negligence is probably too strong we've probably thought we can save a few bob on a keeper and sign another midfielder and just keep borrowing other clubs keepers on the cheap.

I don't want to post in the thread that calls him names.

My opinion for what it's worth, which isn't much, is that he looks to be an athletic and agile keeper who has made a boat load of excellent saves already. He made a couple of errors early on, the type that all young keepers make, but he's settled since and he's been the best player in a few games.

But there is a fundamental problem at the moment: he doesn't catch the ball. He almost always opts to punch it or palm it away. And all too often it comes right back at us, putting us under pressure or, like last night, dropping in the back of the net.

If he doesn't trust himself to catch it, if he hasn't got the talent, we shouldn't be playing him. But if he's being instructed to punch it away every time, giving the jersey to someone else won't improve things, we'll just have another keeper putting us under pressure who probably won't be as good as Slonina at saving shots.
