Meanwhile, the depressing reality of how easily duped and bought our politicians of both main shades are bites again https://www.theguardian.com/environ...ules-on-solar-panels-for-new-homes-in-england They have been in power for 3 months but so far I am seriously unimpressed. Different colour, same old sh.i.t.e.
I really hope this isn't true. And I'll be patient to see whats announced in the budget and thereafter, but this is the most obvious step to take to bring down bills and reduce household emissions and it was criminal the tories dragged their heels on it. I voted Green but hoped Labour would push their green agenda. There's been far too many row backs already, and this would make zero sense.
An excellent, erudite refutation. A picture? Well that's me well and truly defeated. You all just lap up everything you're told! Keep doing it, pay the carbon tax, enjoy the 15 minute city, the curfews, the blackouts, the lockdowns. They're coming. Keep laughing at me, I really couldn't care less. Herd-think makes me nauseous anyway.
That "graph" is a total joke. Have a look at actual data, not some climate propaganda nonsense like the picture you've just posted.
Back to my point about us living in a "British democracy" The shift in voters that would be needed to give the green party any influence means they won't get any. Look how many people voted Reform and they have almost no representation. Now you may not lose any sleep over that but shows how un-democratic the system is. It's all depressing.
That's saved you a job then. It's a shame we can't differ in our opinions without being insulting towards one another. Mob rule in 2024 though I suppose. Just out of curiosity, have you actually read the scientific literature around this topic? Because I have. I formed my opinion from that, not whatever the talking suit on the BBC told me to think. Claim the moral superiority and the faux safety in numbers position which regularly occurs on this board if you like. Post a funny picture perhaps?
Yes, my wife works in ESG. And I tend not to watch BBC based news since it pitched further and further right following all the tory crony appointments.
Somewhere between 97 and 99.6% of climate scientists believe in man-made climate change, but all of those experts with PhDs in atmospheric science, environmental science, physics, maths, climate science, metrology, etc. are wrong and someone who "read" all the literature is right...
To quote one of my Comedy heroes George Carlin. The planet has survived much worse than us. The planet will be fine, the people are fcuk3d. Pack your bags folks we're going away.
Following on from the govt swallowing the myth that is carbon capture and storage, and promising billions over the next 20 years to basically allow the fossil fuel industry to keep doing what they do, despite it never having worked at scale anywhere in the world, I am not particularly hopeful.
This is based on pure selective theory. It's only in recent times we have even been measuring temperature.
