His brainless followers sent him nearly hundred grand and then he walked in court and pleaded guilty He played his fanbase who will continue to blindly worship him.
And yet "Sasha Wass KC, for Yaxley-Lennon, said 'This defendant has been neither sly nor dishonest nor seeking gain for himself'" (BBC). It's a puzzler, isn't it?
Unfortunately he’ll make a lot more friends than enemies in prison. His rhetoric will go down a storm. And he’ll have a nice six figure sum in crowd funding money to come out to in nine or ten months; where he’ll no doubt be revered as some kind of martyr.
It's a very unfunny joke isn't it? I find it disturbing in the extreme that a sitting government would know about prison overcrowding and just do nothing... well, apart from release people early in their thousands months earlier which the media seem to have completely forgot/ignored. And then imagine a sitting government that knew it had overspent by billions including an insane scheme for not deporting people to a foreign country and pushed through NI cuts regardless. And imagine they knew councils were going bust because of brutal cuts from central funding, and imagine compensation schemes being ignored such as infected blood and the PO submasters and imagine that they did nothing with 40 pledged new hospitals but pretended blood test rooms in shopping centres were a whole new hospital. And imagine them doing nothing in terms of public sector pay awards that had been agreed by independent committees... and.... This list could be incredibly long if it were exhaustive. But the nutshell is that the country is in an extraordinary mess after 14 years of drift and simply not being governed for a very long time. A government is at least expected to make decisions while it has office, however easy or difficult. To not do so should be criminal.
