We’ve no idea what was said to provoke him; but he’s done. The punch you might excuse dependant on provocation, but sticking the boot in when he’s on the floor etc - not a strong case to keep him in role. Not that he has to resign of course.
Where is the outrage on this forum for a Labour MP committing GBH from a yard/metre for a verbal attack . The guy he attacked never even raised his arm . Peter Lynch , non violent lengthy prison sentence from a Starmer kangaroo Court .
Good on him why should he just stand there and take abuse from a gobby arsehole. We need more MPs like him.
Eddie Hearn promotion’s present Amesbury v Prescott the parliament punch up on sky boxing pay per view.
Presumably we can expect a custodial sentence, administered within the next couple of weeks, seems a very clear cut case of affray. No reason not to fast track.
There's not justification for that regardless of what was said if he was in fear of physical harm but that doesn't appear to be the case. The jury of social media have decided now let's leave it to the real justice system.
Please explain how it was a "Starmer kangaroo court." I hope that if Amesbury is convicted he is sentenced according to the guidelines, same as Lynch.
Isn’t the man he hit,the same man who was convicted of stalking and harrassing him in 2022,looks like the bloke is back causing distress in the MPs life again and this time he took law into his own hands,I know how scary it is to have someone harrass you ,not pleasant at all
Over the last 15 years, we've had 2 MPs murdered, another stabbed and a knife attack outside Parliament. Not counting the far right plot against the Labour MP (Rosie Cooper) that saw a life sentence for the perpetrator and National Action banned. Being an MP is statistically one of the most dangerous jobs in the country and if a stalker is involved, it would heighten tension - stalkers are quite likely to eventually kill their target. That is not saying the MP should have taken matters into his own hands, but there is potentially a strong defence already forming.
Peter Lynch assaulted a police officer. He encouraged others to assault police officers, and was part of a mob that tried to burn down a hotel with 200 people inside. If that is non-violent, I'd hate to see your definition of violent.
Peter Lynch was just made a example of shouted a few nasty words to police and eventually given a life sentence.
Wow. Didn’t realise the previous stalking bit. Then if true and it is the same individual then he got what he deserved. I’m sure anyone would be frightened if stalked but not everyone has the physical ability to fight back. Hopefully the police properly investigate all the evidence and act accordingly.
Nothing, but it doesn't seem to stop a particular ilk of 'non political' populist claiming so... Or anything else that fits within their blinkered manipulated view of things.
