Yes i can ....but can you remember him taking a penalty slicing it and the ball hitting the corner flag ponty/ West stand side For those who are too young to remember Bob ..it did happen he was a full back If memory serves me right we were playing Workington Town in the old 4th division and lost 2.1 I believe
He’s the first one that sprung to my mind. Not because he was bad, but because so many on here seem to think he was. I was still living down in London when he was playing for us, and I went to all the southern away games, and the consensus amongst the London Tykes was that he was almost always the best Reds player on the pitch. I honestly cannot fathom why he always gets so much stick on here. And I can’t help feeling that if he had been 5’ 9” with a luscious head of hair, rather than 6’ 20” and bald as a coot, he’d have been more appreciated for what he was. When you have someone classed as a striker and that size everyone seems to think he’s going to be heading them in every week, but that wasn’t him. But he could actually play and I liked him.
I always rated Jim O'Brien, but he's the one who came to mind. I think he was liked a lot more than he was good.
I was going to suggest Dean Gorre, but in fairness, I think he was decent. How about both Tommy Wright and Marc (not Mark) Richards. Even Adie Marsh thinks of those two these days, and has a giggle.
Brendan O'Connell. Couldn't play as a striker that we signed so they put him in midfield to run and pass sideways. Never understood how he was so popular
