Theyre literally on the same amount of points as us, just slightly better goal difference, whilst having a better squad. He did okay with us, shockingly bad at Swansea, and a matter of weeks ago a large majority of Huddersfield fans wanted him gone. He cannot win games from behind, he has no plan B at all. Duff had much better foundations when he was here than Clarke did
You do realise Huddersfield has a bigger population than barnsley? I'm not sure what your point is here but if there so far ahead with bigger ground, better manager, massive club why they in the same league on the same points. Can't say I'm over the moon with Clarke but before we played town they were on the brink of getting shut of him.
That's what I meant mate, duffs squad he had here was miles infront of this one. He underachived really.
You made a point of prices, was this to back an argument up of why they get bigger crowds? We could have the same price, they'd still get thousands more. I think I'm intelligent enough to know about towns and populations. We are 13 games in, same points - we've played nobody yet, still 6 of the top 10 to play.
I didn't say they've double, I said they bury us for attendances - which they do. In fairness if we counted we actually turns up they probably have double our attendances
Absolutely. It was a tough top 6 that year - Plymouth, Ipswich and Wednesday were strong throughout the year. But realistically, we had a lot better squad than most of the top 6 and really should have pushed on higher.
You got abit sensitive that there's a thread raking piss out off Huddersfield and duff losing to Tamworth. Duffs a better head coach then clarke, theyve beat us twice and they get bigger gates. My counter argument would be duff had a miles better squad here underachieved. Huddersfield has alot bigger population than barnsley and much cheaper season tickets and were in the prem less than 10 years ago so you would expect them to get bigger gates. We lost to them we were ***** they didn't look that good. Then we got beat when Clarke played the kids in a competition no one cares about. Have a nice weekend
They've just been beat by a plumber, builder an I.T bloke and there mates. But joking aside can't say I'm too envious of Huddersfield Town.
I get that. They would, I'd say be around 20% max on average more. Just noting not double mate. Ridiculously low prices since premier. I'm guessing that will have to change once the coffers run dry. They posted a loss of £11m 22/23. Last season will be interesting. Unless they made a big profit on player sales. As for Actually turning up. I think it's safe to assume. If any team are playing crap or fixtures interfered with. All season ticket holders will be counted. Even Udders. Fans used to say at one time. 1000s more than announced as a tax fiddle. Now it's the opposite in effect. As there is no reason to announce a higher gate than actual ticket holders. But makes it sound more impressive.
Plenty of league teams are living with them too. Given we’re in touching distance of them, perhaps it’s just another example of Clarke saying something stupid. I know we’re throwing away millions as it is, but maybe they could tap Parekh for a few more quid for some proper media training for him.
Not at Swansea he wasn't. Or indeed udders the way they're looking! And he did a decent job with us, but the season hasn't finished yet to compare.
I wouldn't say Duffer was shocking at Swansea, but maybe their expectations were too much for him there. And if he/we had a proper pre season build up and everything, like the other teams did, instead of playing catch up right from the start. Then maybe automatic promotion that season could have been achieved.
28% win record, 1 win in 8 before being sacked, seemingly lost a million games in a row and he really annoyed Swansea fans with his Cardiff comments mate. They had a very solid championship squad too. I think it was a disaster, largely of his own making. They particularly thought he was a little delusional and didn't take much responsibility
