There was a fair love in on here for Hondermark... plenty wanted him to be given a run in the team based on a 20 minute substitute appearance. https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/hondermark.311849/
Another vote for Big Bad Barry Conlon. Seemed to miss a host of chances every game but was clearly doing something right because he was always there to miss them!
Me and mi cuz had a reight barney over his abilities. I said he was sheite. He thought he was better than Morgan for example. Not the worst but probably in the bottom 5 centre halves for me.
Odejayi, bad footballer but effort he put in was unreal. When he chased that blunt player down the touchline and won the ball is an highlight if anyone remembers? Jeronimo neumann. He was up their with the worst but people loved him on the forums!
I called him Eyes-Right O'Connell. He could run/pass directly to the right touchline. He could run/pass diagonally towards the right corner flag. He could sometimes run directly towards goal. But if anything was to his left, he couldn't even see it. But despite those limitations and a few more, I thought he was a great player for us. He scored and created dozens of goals, gave everything he'd got in every game and was utterly fearless. And he once beat Sheff Utd 2-0 on his own. And his goal, along with Archdeacon's after they'd both come on as subs away at Leeds, was the best few minutes in the history of the world.
Chris 'Spider' Hedworth. Rubbish player but a trier and likeable. Michael Clarke - who could run from one end of the pitch to the other without anyone getting near him and then cross the ball straight out of play. Another likeable trier.
Leon Knight, Dean Burton, Don Goodman, Paul Warhust, Ronnie Wallwork were all proper sh*t for us during loan spells but were instantly bigged up due to past achievements. Permanent signings Mido, Liam Lawrence, Liam Dickinson and Dave Regis have to be up there, I'm not sure if they were really loved to bits but always seemed to be held in high regard
